The US Open Cup trophy was on display for a discussion event with @stlCITYsc leadership today. The Cup will be available for fans to take pictures with starting at 430pm on Wednesday ahead of the match vs Portland on the Lou Fusz Plaza. #AllForCITY

Fulltime. Mercifully. CITY fall 3-0 to RSL and while never being the aggressor for significant periods, had a decent back and forth in the 1H. The Ostrák double yellow at 44’ changed it all. CITY’s best and only real chance came at 86’ on a Downs’ transition chance. Otherwise? 20-3 shots, 8-2 on target, 42-6 touches in opp box. Eek. @stlCITYsc won the Open Cup 3 days ago. In the bigger context, this match will quickly be forgotten. But it won’t be forgotten by Damet or Wray or how this club approaches the last 3 games or their offseason to come. Even after winning the cup, getting better means improving on these types of games. #AllForCITY

Timo Baumgartl taking charge and bringing discriminatory language he heard from the RSL crowd to Drew Fischer, the head ref at 82’ is some top quality captain-type work out there. #AllForCITY

Say what you will about the announcers but the notion that Timo might need a sub to be ready for Wednesday is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. #AllForCITY

HT and @stlCITYsc trail RSL 1-0. CITY showed flashes of life midway through the half and controlled things for a good 15’… but the goal & Ostrák double yellow in quick succession near the end of 1H changed everything. CITY’s employing a diamond midfield so far but down a man, we’re left wondering how much Damet will throw into the attack to chase a goal while a man down. #AllForCITY

Timo Baumgartl, WOW! Massive save at 39’ #AllForCITY

CITY have 3 players starting tonight w/less than 3 starts each this season in Ben Lundt (2), Tomas Ostrák (1), CEB (0). #AllForCITY

For those looking at the @stlCITYsc XI & thinking “Who’s Brunet?” Here’s Brunet: Charles-Emile Brunet was actually the 1st deadline day signing this year, hours before Downs & Navarro. CEB, a 22 yr old 5’8 CM is on loan through the end of the season. In his initial signing, Corey Wray said he “gives us some depth in the midfield as we head into the final stretch of the season” and cost us $50k in GAM while also having a purchase option. And this from @benwright on CEB: Solid stamina. Not the fastest player but covers ground and can put in a pretty nasty tackle (complimentary) for a smaller guy. He’s more of a deep-lying playmaker than a true box-to-box guy. #AllForCITY

Charles-Emile Brunet earns his 1st start for @stlCITYsc at CM in a heavily rotated lineup that consists of 4 regular top choice starters. But significant firepower off the bench and couple key buildup pieces in Durkin/Wallem w/Navarro leading the line. Should be a fun look w/CEB, Ostrák and Fall amongst the group. #AllForCITY

Biggest storyline I’m interested in tonight for @stlCITYsc is simply how they respond after giving it as much as any team can and winning a trophy just 3 days ago. Call it a hangover, call it coming off a mental/physical/emotional high… it’s uncharted territory for STL. And there’s plenty to play for that makes this an important match: 4 games left w/just 2 at home, they’re even on points for 2nd place & just 4 pts clear of 5th place Houston. Also just 5 pts off their club record for pts in a season (56). Nothing’s certain beyond being in the playoffs and CITY knows they can’t afford something resembling taking the night off. It’ll be a hard fought match against an inconsistent but capable RSL side who’ve put up 8g in their last 4, but since the World Cup break have just 2 wins, 5 draws & 9 losses. Navarro is fully healthy and fit and when that’s the case for CITY, you usually feel good about getting some kind of result - having learned from the MNUFC match. #AllForCITY

Most of our latest show was obviously focused on the US Open Cup and @stlCITYsc becoming champions… but we do have a good sized preview of the RSL match - a look at them and our expectations for CITY. It starts at 52:05 of the episode! #AllForCITY

Player Availability Reports for @stlCITYsc vs @realsaltlake: Bürki & Mâțan are both out after their injuries sustained Wednesday & Tuesday respectively. Otherwise a healthy club on the other side of winning the US Open Cup. No big surprises for RSL either. For STL, it’ll be a fitness test on who can bounce back after Holse, Totland, Wallem, Durkin, Edelman, Polvara, Baumgartl & MacNaughton all went 120+’ on Wednesday. Expect decent rotation before the club returns home next midweek. #AllForCITY

I've seen a lot of different graphics used to celebrate @stlCITYsc winning the US Open Cup but this one is the best I've seen. Absolute perfection to me. And if you notice - it celebrates ALL of the CITY players during this run who helped win this championship. #AllForCITY
