Here is Jesús Owono’s reaction after his tackle on Jesús de Miguel:
- He was heading straight down the tunnel because he knew it was a red-card offence, which he was shown on the spot.
- His teammate even went over to greet him for the tackle, not realizing how serious the situation was.
- He rushed back immediately when he realized the severity of the situation.
It was a reckless tackle, and the consequences are heartbreaking. But we must remember that none of these players goes onto the pitch intending to take the life of a fellow player.

Belgian’s when you tell them they have to play against the 135th FIFA ranked striker
The Belgian Federation was “astonished” by FIFA’s decision to suspend Folarin Balogun’s one-game ban and has appealed, via @TheAthletic
Belgium HC Rudi Garcia added: “I didn’t know that at the World Cup, July 5 is actually April 1. It’s April Fools’.

FIFA is corrupt. But that doesn't mean reinstating Balo is a result of said corruption.
It was a terrible, tournament altering call. They broke their own protocol in order to issue it in the first place.
Leaving it as such would've been more evident of the corruption.

Balogun is not looking at the defender and is trying to get the ball, the defender throws his body in the way and Balogun lands awkwardly. Never should’ve been a red, suspension would’ve been unjust. teapawt.net/CronoMuse/status/20739…

i really don't understand why people are upset. they literally broke their own rules when reviewing the foul
By the way, in regard to Balogun, the reason he's being allowed to play against Belgium is because of the VAR infringement and the officials not following the proper procedures. Since the US couldn't file an appeal, FIFA instead applied Article 27, which temporarily pauses the suspension and places Balogun on probation for the next year. That means if he commits a similar offense within that period, the suspended one-match ban will automatically be enforced.

The best part about this Bubista feat is that HE BUILT A FORMIDABLE TEAM BEYOND THE STARTING 11.
20 of his 26 players actually played in the World Cup.
TWENTY.
That means only 4 outfield players and the 2 reserve goalkeepers did not feature in the 4 matches they played.
When you take into consideration that none of their matches was a dead rubber game, hands down that is the most impressive team ensemble and team trust by any coach actively competing at the World Cup in recent history.
