the number of founders i see building good products with ZERO distribution is insane.
if you're an early-stage founder, here's what i'd do:
1/ spend 30 mins/day on reddit, X, and LinkedIn.
- find what your ICP complains about.
- turn those into content.
2/ make 80% of your content about the problem & solution.
- 20% about your product.
- educate your audience.
3/ pick ONE platform.
- B2B? start with LinkedIn.
- developer audience? consider X/YouTube.
- go where your buyers are.
4/ block 60 mins/day for distribution. non-negotiable.
5/ record one 60-minute founder conversation every week.
- extract 10–15 content ideas from customer stories, mistakes, and strong opinions.
6/ batch-produce content.
- one 2-hour shoot should give you multiple weeks of short-form content.
7/ spend 15 mins/day commenting on posts your ICP already engages with.
- distribution isn't just publishing but connecting w/ your audience.
8/ track qualified followers, inbound DMs, profile visits, and sign-ups. not just impressions and engagenment metrics.
9/ if a post works, create 5 variations.
- change the hook, angle, format, or depth before moving on.
10/ build an email list from day one.
- don't let an algorithm own your entire audience.
most founders have a product roadmap.
very few have a distribution roadmap.
you need both.
