WATCH TILL END! People are celebrating and distributing sweets after learning that Muskaan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil, have been sentenced to death. And understandably, it is a moment that many consider worth celebrating.
But will Muskaan actually be hanged?
Let’s look at what history tells us.
In Maharashtra, two women, Renuka Shinde and Seema Gavit, kidnapped and murdered around 13 children during the 1990s. They were sentenced to death, but in 2022, the Bombay High Court commuted their death sentences to life imprisonment.
In Karnataka, a woman named KD Kempamma committed several murders between 1999 and 2007, targeting women and stealing their jewellery. She was sentenced to death in two separate cases in 2010 and 2012. However, the Karnataka High Court later commuted her death sentences to life imprisonment.
In Andhra Pradesh, a woman named Ediga Anamma murdered a mother and her child in 1971. Both the trial court and the High Court sentenced her to death, but the Supreme Court later commuted her death sentence to life imprisonment.
Then there is Shabnam from Uttar Pradesh. In 2008, she murdered seven members of her own family with the help of her lover. She was sentenced to death by the lower courts, and the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence. Her mercy petition was also rejected by the President. However, there has still been no confirmed update regarding her execution.
So, what do you think? If Muskaan appeals to the higher courts, is there a possibility that her death sentence could be commuted to life imprisonment?

The Madras High Court has ruled that a husband’s extramarital affair, by itself, does not amount to cruelty under Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The court was hearing an appeal filed by a woman’s brother challenging the acquittal of her husband in a case involving her death by suicide along with their one-and-a-half-year-old child in 2010.
The prosecution alleged that the husband had subjected his wife to dowry harassment and maintained an extramarital relationship with another woman.
However, the trial court acquitted him in 2018, finding that the allegations of dowry demands and cruelty had not been sufficiently established.
Justice Sunder Mohan observed that merely proving an extramarital relationship was not enough to establish cruelty under Section 498A. The prosecution must establish additional circumstances demonstrating legally punishable cruelty.
The court also found the dowry harassment allegations vague and unsupported by sufficient evidence.
The High Court subsequently dismissed the appeal and upheld the husband’s acquittal.
The ruling clarifies that an extramarital affair does not automatically amount to criminal cruelty under Section 498A; the surrounding circumstances and evidence must also be examined. It does not mean that an affair can never form part of a cruelty case.

A viral video from October 2026 captures a heated argument aboard an Indian Railways AC train coach involving a woman travelling without a valid ticket who forcefully occupied a reserved seat and refused to move aside.
The woman was found travelling in an AC coach without a valid ticket and refused to vacate a reserved passenger berth.
When the Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) intervened and asked her to follow railway rules or pay the appropriate penalty/vacate the seat, she became defiant.
Instead of cooperating, she argued aggressively with the TTE and co-passengers, accused railway staff of harassment, and attempted to block or cover the camera recording the incident.
Railway control was alerted, and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel intercepted the train at a major junction to deboard and question her.

In a heartbreaking case highlighting the devastating consequences of delayed justice, an elderly couple from Hisar, Haryana, died without seeing the outcome of their decades-long fight for adequate compensation after losing their son in a road accident.
On March 15, 2001, Shakti Singh was returning home on his bicycle when a van hit him from behind on Sirsa Road. He succumbed to his injuries the following day.
His parents, Jaiprakash and Parmeshwari Devi, subsequently pursued compensation through the courts.
In June 2004, a court awarded them ₹1 lakh, but they appealed, seeking higher compensation. Jaiprakash passed away in October 2014 while the appeal remained pending.
On October 8, 2026, the Punjab and Haryana High Court enhanced the compensation to ₹3,85,468, along with 7.5% annual interest from the date of the appeal until payment.
Tragically, Parmeshwari Devi died just five or six days after the verdict, and the enhanced amount was deposited only after both parents had passed away.
They spent years waiting for justice, but the relief they fought for came too late for them to see it. How many families must endure such suffering before timely justice becomes a reality?

How can anyone justify the horrific act of stripping a man and his father naked and parading them through the streets simply because the girl was a minor?
If a minor is involved, let the law take its course. There are numerous cases where adult women are accused of engaging in sexual acts with minor boys. Would society ever accept such barbarity against a woman and her father or mother?
A minor deserves protection, but that does not give anyone the right to humiliate or assault another human being.
Justice cannot be selective, and human dignity cannot depend on gender. If you condemn such cruelty only when the victim is a woman, you are not standing for justice. You are standing for bias.
SHAME ON YOU IF YOU ARE SUPPORTING THIS HORRIFIC ACT

A shocking murder case has emerged from Hunsur in Karnataka’s Mysuru district, where a 30-year-old woman, Pavithra, and her alleged lover, Sunil, have been arrested for allegedly murdering her 35-year-old husband, Rama Prasad.
According to media reports, the incident took place on October 16 at the couple’s residence in Vinoba Colony, Hunsur. The couple reportedly had two children, an 11-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter.
Police suspect that Pavithra allegedly mixed crushed poisonous datura seeds into idli batter and served the food to her husband. When he did not die after consuming the food, she allegedly called Sunil to the house, and the two are accused of strangling him.
Investigators reportedly believe that the alleged motive was Pavithra’s relationship with Sunil, which had allegedly led to frequent disputes between the couple.
Following Rama Prasad’s death, Pavithra reportedly told his brother, Chandrahas, that her husband had eaten curd and was later found unresponsive. The family initially treated the death as natural and performed his last rites.
However, suspicions arose after local residents reportedly shared information about Sunil’s presence at the house on the night of the incident. Chandrahas subsequently approached the police on October 20, seeking a thorough investigation into his brother’s death.
According to reports, findings from the post-mortem examination also raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the death. During the subsequent investigation, police questioned Pavithra and Sunil before arresting them in connection with the alleged murder.
Both accused have reportedly been remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues. The allegations against them remain subject to judicial proceedings.

Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, who were sentenced to death for the murder of Muskan’s husband, Saurabh Rajput, have approached the Allahabad High Court challenging their conviction and the death penalty awarded by a Meerut court.
The duo were convicted on September 30, 2026, and sentenced to death on October 14.
The case gained nationwide attention after Saurabh’s dismembered body was discovered concealed inside a blue drum filled with cement at his home in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, in March 2025.
In their appeal, Muskan and Sahil have reportedly argued that the prosecution failed to establish the charges beyond reasonable doubt.
They have challenged the trial court’s assessment of the circumstantial evidence and raised alleged inconsistencies in witness statements, along with questions concerning the documentation and admissibility of certain evidence.
The two have sought the setting aside of their conviction and death sentences, along with acquittal of the charges against them.
According to media reports published on October 24, 2026, a division bench of the Allahabad High Court is likely to hear the matter next week.

According to reports, the victim, Rajkumar, married Preeti in 2004, and the couple welcomed a son the following year. Rajkumar later discovered that his wife was allegedly involved in a relationship with Yogesh, who reportedly began staying at their house.
Tensions escalated after Rajkumar got a DNA test conducted in 2011 to establish whether he was the biological father of their son.
The test report reportedly indicated that he was not the child's biological father, triggering further disputes between the couple. Rajkumar also had disagreements with Yogesh over his relationship with Preeti.
On the night of February 10, 2019, Rajkumar was allegedly attacked with sticks and other weapons, sustaining severe injuries to his head and chest. He died at the scene. His mother subsequently lodged a police complaint, leading to an investigation into the murder.
During the investigation and trial, the DNA report, witness testimonies and medical evidence played an important role in establishing the case against Preeti and Yogesh.
A third person, Babbi Lal, was initially named in the case but was reportedly excluded after investigators found insufficient evidence of his involvement.
After examining the evidence, the Additional District and Sessions Court found Preeti and Yogesh guilty and sentenced both to rigorous life imprisonment, along with a fine of ₹1 lakh each.

A 23-year-old delivery executive, Sameer Hussain, died on October 20, 2026, after allegedly consuming poison following a confrontation with a customer over a torn ₹10 note in East Vinod Nagar, East Delhi.
According to media reports, the incident occurred on October 4, when Sameer went to deliver a coffee order to a customer, Rampal Singh, aged 65. Sameer alleged that after waiting for the customer to arrange payment, he was handed a torn ₹10 note.
When he politely requested that the note be replaced, an argument allegedly broke out.
Sameer claimed that he was subsequently slapped multiple times and humiliated over his financial background by the customer and another man, identified as Rakesh alias Bunty, aged 30.
Following the incident, Sameer reportedly recorded videos describing his ordeal and expressing concerns about whether he would receive justice.
As per reports, despite repeated complaints by him, police took no action.
He allegedly consumed poison on October 5 and was admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where he remained under treatment until his death on October 20, a day before his 24th birthday.
Police have arrested both Rampal Singh and Rakesh alias Bunty. Following Sameer's death, police added Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), relating to abetment of suicide, to the case. The investigation is ongoing.
The tragic incident has raised serious concerns about the dignity and safety of delivery workers, who deserve to be treated with respect while earning an honest living.
A torn ₹10 note should never become the reason for a confrontation that ends in such a devastating loss.

A video featuring a Kolkata couple enjoying Durga Puja pandal-hopping with their son has recently gone viral which is winning hearts online.
However , several women allegedly posted derogatory comments about the husband’s appearance, baldness and financial status.
One social media user described the man as someone who had “failed at life,” while another questioned his looks, hairline, physique and height.
Another comment suggested that his wife had settled for a “below-average-looking, bald man,” arguing that she could have had a better life.
The remarks triggered a debate across social media, with many users criticising the comments as body-shaming and class-based humiliation.
Supporters of the couple questioned why a family’s seemingly happy moment had become an occasion to judge a man’s physical appearance, financial circumstances and perceived success.
One user wrote- "This is what feminism has taken away from you!"
Several netizens also pointed out what they viewed as a double standard: men are often criticised for judging women by their looks, yet similar scrutiny of men can also be normalised online. Some users expressed the view that such behaviour contradicts the principles of equality and mutual respect associated with feminism.
The controversy has reignited a broader discussion about online misandry, unrealistic expectations of men and the tendency to measure a man’s worth through his appearance, wealth or social status.
A man’s worth is not determined by his hairline, height, bank balance or conventional attractiveness. And a woman’s choice of partner should not become an excuse to humiliate either of them.
Respect and equality must apply to everyone. Body-shaming and personal attacks do not become acceptable simply because the target is a man.

The Rajasthan High Court has upheld a divorce decree granted to a husband, ruling that a prolonged refusal to have physical relations without a valid reason, coupled with threats of suicide, can amount to mental cruelty under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.
The case involved a couple who married in 2018. The husband alleged that his wife refused to establish physical relations with him and threatened to consume poison and end her life. According to him, they had not had physical relations since October 25, 2018, and had been living separately.
The wife denied the allegations of cruelty and claimed that her husband quarrelled with her over minor issues, pressured her regarding her employment and demanded a share of her salary. She also sought the restoration of their marital relationship through legal proceedings.
In February 2024, the Family Court granted the husband a divorce on grounds of cruelty and rejected the wife's petition seeking restitution of conjugal rights.
Challenging these decisions, the wife approached the Rajasthan High Court.
A division bench of Justice Munnuri Laxman and Justice Yogendra Kumar Purohit examined the evidence and referred to Supreme Court judgments concerning mental cruelty in matrimonial disputes.
The High Court held that, in the circumstances of this case, the wife's prolonged refusal to have physical relations without physical incapacity or a valid reason, along with threats of suicide, amounted to mental cruelty under Section 13(1)(ia) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.
The court dismissed both appeals filed by the wife, thereby upholding the divorce decree and the rejection of her petition for restitution of conjugal rights.
The ruling highlights that mental cruelty can be a ground for divorce for husbands as well as wives.
However, such cases are decided on their specific facts and evidence; a refusal of physical intimacy does not automatically amount to cruelty in every marriage.
