Our Young Women SRHR Advocates presented on “Who Owns Menstrual Health?” during the Regional SRHR Policy Dialogue in Lilongwe, Malawi. The presentation examined menstrual health through four key lenses: the enabling environment, legal and policy fragmentation, policy coherence, and the financing crisis, highlighting experiences from Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. #RegionalSRHRPolicyDialogue #HerVoiceHerInfluence

"A call to action even as we begin the meeting; To the government, we ask that you align your goals, fund your commitment, and make adolescents and youth at SRHR a core development priority. To healthcare providers, protect confidentiality, listen without judgment, and treat every young person with dignity. To the educators, create safe spaces for accurate information, dialogue, and referral. To the parents and communities, replace silence and fear with guidance, trust, and open communication. To development partners, support national systems, invest in local leadership, and avoid fragmented short-term projects. To researchers, generate evidence that reflects the diversity of young people and translate findings into action. To civil society, continue to defend rights, strengthen community accountability, and create platforms for voices. And to the young people, your voice is not an ornament to policy processes. You are rights holders, you are partners, you are innovators, and leaders. Continue to organize, ask difficult questions, and demand accountability, but also ensure that the most excluded young people are represented in the movement." "I would like to acknowledge and thank our grant partners for their contribution in organizing this dialogue. I also thank all partners and stakeholders who continue to support this important work for adolescents. By the end of this meeting, our hope is very clear in ensuring that we have a clear understanding of the policy and the financing landscape, a stronger foundation for regional collaboration, including concrete actions that can advance adolescents' and youth SRHR across Southern Africa. I encourage all of us to engage openly and also listen to one another with reflection and also focus on solutions. The expertise and the experience and leadership needed to make progress are very present in this very room." Limpo Chinika, Program Manager @CafeSRHR #RegionalSRHRPolicyDialogue #HerVoiceHerInfluence

A woman may have the right to make decisions about her body, but can she truly exercise that right without accurate information, accessible services, privacy, and freedom from coercion? In commemoration of this year’s World Sexual Health Day, we are asking the questions that matter: Who informs her? Who decides for her? Who listens to her? Who stands with her? From contraception and HIV prevention to pregnancy, healthcare and sexual relationships, women deserve the information, choices, services and agency to make decisions about their own bodies. Because a right on paper is not enough if a woman cannot exercise it in practice. Join our Young Women SRHR Advocates for an X Space exploring women’s access to information, services, bodily autonomy and informed consent. 📅 4 September 2026 ⏰ 6:30–8:00 PM EAT Who decides for her? Let’s have the conversation. xitter.cf/i/spaces/1kJzDPvjVEvKv…
