Autism: I like people… in small doses, on my terms, and with an exit plan. ADHD: I overshare my entire life story in five minutes. AuDHD: I talk too much or absolutely not at all. There is no middle ground.

Every girl, adolescent and woman has the right to be safe. No matter what she wears. No matter where she goes. No matter if she stays alert. Safe. Full stop. We cannot accept a world where violence is a risk girls are expected to navigate. It’s time to prevent violence, hold perpetrators accountable and end violence against girls and women.

Here's what too many people don't know: In New York, the law generally requires force, a clear "no," or proof that a victim was unconscious or drugged without their consent BEFORE RAPE CAN BE CHARGED. šŸŗ If a victim chose to drink and was then too intoxicated to consent, prosecuting is much harder—sometimes IMPOSSIBLE. That's the ā€œVOLUNTARY INTOXICATION LOOPHOLE.ā€ It was cited in the Cornell case. It contributed to Jane Doe being barred from seeking justice through the criminal system. ā€¼ļø BEING DRUNK IS NOT CONSENT. It never has been. ā€¼ļø This loophole should NEVER have stood between a survivor and justice. For years, RAINN has worked alongside survivors and New York lawmakers to close the voluntary intoxication loophole—and we won't stop until it's gone. TODAY: New York lawmakers are renewing calls to pass A.101/S.10632. šŸ’” This legislation would address the gap in protections for NY survivors who become incapable of consenting after voluntarily consuming alcohol or other intoxicating substances. šŸ’” The proposed change would focus on whether someone was capable of consenting—not how they became incapacitated. šŸ’™ Survivors deserve laws and systems that support accountability. That’s why RAINN is working in statehouses and in Congress to update laws EVERYWHERE, so every survivor has a real path to justice. šŸ”„ Here's how you can stand with us: • Share this post so more people know this loophole exists! • Use the hashtag #NoMoreExcuses and join the movement at RAINN.org/nomoreexcuses. • Donate, if you can, to keep RAINN’s National Sexual Assault Hotline supporting survivors day and night. šŸ’™ If YOU need support, we're here 24/7. It’s free—and 100% confidential. Text ā€œHOPEā€ to 64673 Chat at RAINN.org/hotline Call 800.656.HOPE (4673) #NoMoreExcuses #RAINN #SupportSurvivors #StopSexualViolence

There are no blurred lines when it comes to consent. Yet it is still too often misunderstood, ignored or dismissed. There is no excuse for sexual violence. Women’s rights and choices must be protected. — via @UN_Women

Suicide is still too often met with silence, stigma, or shame. But no matter what you’re experiencing, help is available. Healing is possible. There is still time. And all it can take is one conversation to make a difference. As #SuicidePreventionMonth draws to a close, let’s keep the conversation going. Around the world, women & girls continue to face discrimination, violence & abuse. Their rights are rolled back, their voices silenced, their bodies turned into battlegrounds & their freedoms treated as bargaining chips. This is an outrage & a profound waste for humanity.

US President Donald Trump recently announced a ban on CNN, MS NOW, and Politico for White House coverage. When you attack the independent media, you undermine democracy. Access to information is a critical human right.
