My favourite scene, as an employee quits over the CEO ignoring her concerns about their new model: "This is it, Josh. This is what it's going to look like when it's time to pause. It's going to look like a crappy little graph."
The same director behind the short film Writing Doom has just released another - Seat at the Table. I think the personification of the AI as a child being corrected as he tries to guess the next word of a sentence is very well done. Well worth a watch. (link below)

Here's a beautifully filmed Black Mirror-style take on the race to uncontrollable superintelligence just launched by @ForegoneFilms:
When Eva visits her dad’s AI company, she meets Liam 6, their flagship AI model. With the imminent launch of a new model, and the company's co-founder claiming Liam 7 is too dangerous to release, Eva asks: can they actually control what they've created? New from @ForegoneFilms:

"Writing Doom", the short film which recently won the grand prize in our Superintelligence Imagined contest, was shouted out in the latest AI Decoded newsletter by @FastCompany! "I used to think that the accelerationist side sounded a bit more grounded and pragmatic, but after watching the recently released short film Writing Doom, I’m not so sure... The film both enlightened and unnerved me. It deserves a wider audience." 🔗 Read the newsletter, and watch Writing Doom yourself, in the replies below ⬇️
