ALT Pink background. How Foundation Came To Be. A story by Steve, Former CEO of Foundation. Storybook image with these words inside: After qualifying at Bath University Steve spent 3 years in Probation, coming to the conclusion that crime was more about poverty and lack of opportunity than it was individual choice. After a “year out” living in France with 2 young kids, Steve dedicated his career to improving resources and opportunity via practical provision of homes and access to education and employment. He came to Leeds to manage a small hostel for young people, working with Probation and Leeds federated housing association to provide independent housing. After 5 years, he was coaxed back to Probation with a caseload free post to build a housing scheme, which became Timble in 1984. Whilst at the hostel, Steve had joined other third sector and housing dept. staff in forming Leeds Shaftesbury Project, which later joined with Community Links to become part of the Inspire North Group

ALT Grey background. Faded out image of woman in south Asian dress. #NoExcuseForAbuse in teal at top.
