✈️🇺🇦 Zelensky: "I would like to thank 🇬🇧UK and 🇫🇷France separately. There is a decision on additional Mirage fighter jets for Ukraine and missiles for air defense. Britain will continue to help us with air defense, also with missiles and the production of interceptor drones."

I want to express my particular gratitude to the United Kingdom and France: there is a decision from France to provide Ukraine with additional Mirage fighter jets and air defense missiles, while the UK will continue to assist us with air defense by supplying missiles and producing interceptor drones – thank you for that. There are also new decisions by Finland and Spain to contribute to the PURL initiative – a mechanism for procuring American weapons, including missiles for the Patriots. We are working on this with full focus, and our defense arrangements with European partners are working clearly. We are preparing new projects – there will be more joint weapons production. And for the world to address Russia from a position of strength, we in Ukraine must stand on strong ground ourselves. It’s crucial to always compare what the Russians were commanded to do and by when, with what they actually managed to achieve. Ukraine’s resistance is truly heroic.

Endless russian war crimes. In the village of Zvanivka, Donetsk region, russians executed an entire family. They stormed into a basement where parents and two sons were hiding from shelling — demanding “information about Ukrainian soldiers.” When they got no answer, one russian returned and opened fire. The father and elder son were killed on the spot. The younger one, their neighbors — a 62-year-old woman and her 30-year-old son — murdered next door. Only one woman, shot in the face, managed to escape to Ukrainian territory. russia doesn’t fight — it exterminates.

‼️ This is a very dangerous situation. Nothing like this has ever happened before. This nuclear power plant is the largest in Europe. Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which has been under Russian occupation since March 2022, has been disconnected from the power supply for more than a week. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stressed that this situation is unstable in terms of nuclear safety, since "in case of a complete blackout with no off-site power and no EDGs operating, the nuclear fuel could melt if power could not be restored in time." According to Ukraine’s state nuclear operator Energoatom, this is already the tenth blackout at the occupied Zaporizhzhia plant. At present, the plant is running on diesel generators. "Russia is doing absolutely nothing to fix the situation or to allow Ukrainian specialists to restore external power to the plant, which under normal conditions should operate without interruption. Russia is deliberately creating the threat of radiation incidents, taking advantage, unfortunately, of the weak position of the IAEA and its Director General Rafael Grossi, as well as the distraction of global attention. To resolve the situation, weak and half-measures will not work. What is needed is strong action and corresponding pressure on Russia to protect lives," President Zelenskyy said. Moreover, yesterday’s targeted Russian strike on one of Ukraine’s power substations in Slavutych caused a blackout lasting more than three hours at facilities of the former Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. "This includes, in particular, the New Safe Confinement that protects the environment from the remains of the plant’s fourth reactor after the 1986 explosion, as well as radioactive debris and dust. It also includes the spent nuclear fuel storage facility, which holds 80% of all the spent fuel accumulated during the plant’s operation - a total of more than 3,250 tons of spent fuel assemblies. The Russians could not have been unaware that a strike on facilities in Slavutych would have such consequences for Chernobyl. This was a deliberate attack, in which Russia used more than 20 drones. Some of them were shot down, but the strike was deliberately organized in a wave of drones to make defending the site more difficult," the President of Ukraine said.
For three days now, Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has had no external electricity supply. On Ukraine-controlled territory, the power line is operational, but Russia is deliberately not reconnecting the plant to the power supply. ▪️ Cooling and safety systems are running on diesel generators due to the power line being cut off; ▪️ There is a risk of the cooling systems failing, which could lead to the uncontrolled heating of nuclear fuel; Russia also has plans to connect the plant to power lines through occupied Ukrainian territories. In honor of the Day of the Defender in Ukraine... We wanted to share one of the great "Defender" videos of all time and here is the story below... ------------------------------------------------------------ On February 25th, 2022, this video was taken by @y_gudymenko and immediately went viral. While many expected Ukraine’s forces to be quickly overrun, Yuri showed that Ukrainian soldiers were not intimidated at all. Instead, he mocked the Russians, asking if they “liked our Bayraktars”, referencing the Turkish built drones that had quickly become famous for destroying dozens of high value Russian targets. This is the story behind the video in his own words… ------------------------------------------------------------ We met the first day of the big war in Mariupol at the base of the 503rd Marine Battalion. We carried volunteer aid for the Marines. I don’t remember what exactly. There were definitely sniper cartridges and gunpowder. My friend, Serg Marco, and I spent the entire first day at the base. From there we were sent at night to the positions of this battalion between Gorlovka and Donetsk. They paved the way for us there through the Donetsk region, and we drove out in the dark along the indicated road. We drove along country roads. Perhaps this territory was already occupied by that time, perhaps not. On one of these roads we stopped for a smoke break and recorded this video. A song by my good friend known as Sasha Kladbische (band Zwyntar) is playing in the background. She has several songs based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and we then rode to them and to songs from the war in Yugoslavia. These songs suited the mood very well. After many hours, we reached the position, finally handed over the volunteer aid that was being transported from Kyiv, and the battalion commander sent us back to Kyiv. My battalion, with which I had signed a reservist contract, was waiting for me there. Well, the rest of the story is known - I became an ordinary sapper, then a corporal, commander of a sapper squad. We defended Kyiv, Irpin, then Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region. There I was seriously wounded, and after a long treatment I was sent into retirement. My comrade Serg Marco is fighting in the 59th brigade. And the video was good and important. I still believe and know that we will win. and that everything was not in vain. That’s the story.

There are thousands of heroes in Belarusian prisons. My personal hero—my husband Siarhei—is finally free after 5 long years. Our family is whole again. But so many families are still waiting. So many loved ones still behind bars. For them, we must keep going. We can’t stop.

I welcome the agreement on our 17th sanctions package against Russia. We are further restricting access to battlefield technology. And we have listed an additional 189 shadow fleet vessels to target Russia's energy exports. This war has to end. We will keep the pressure high on the Kremlin.
