Remarkable discovery on the role of cell plasticity in shaping genome evolution. Congratulations to @LabGenovese, @perelli_luigi and @Li_Zhang_LZ
Delighted to share our new work on EMT in cancer evolution! A special thanks the fantastic mentorship of ⁦@LabGenovese⁩ and the wonderful collaborators! We found that specific genomic patterns amplify and segregate only in selected phenotypes. nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

Delighted to share our skin transposons paper now online @CellCellPress !#TransposableElements #mobileDNA #Regeneration #Skin #StemCell cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092… Congrats to outstanding postdoc Ying Lyu and our amazing team YounJoo, Ericka, Richa, @MDA_UTHGrad #proudPI! A big shout out to our incredible collaborators @kchenken , Yue Lu, Taiping Chen, and others @MDAndersonNews . In our murine model, we saw viral like particles originated from the endogenous retroviruses, accompanied by hair loss and stem cell exhaustion, which can be rescued by antiviral drugs. Very excited about the implications behind these findings, especially how innate antiviral pathways can be leveraged to expose cancer vulnerability #EndCancer. Look forward to the next discoveries! New preprint from the @MDAndersonNews #PancreaticCancer team of famous Italians 🇮🇹 (@DraettaG @LabGenovese @DiPilatoMauro @FrancescaCitron & Andrea Viale): WRAD core perturbation impairs DNA replication fidelity promoting immunoediting in #PancreaticCancer biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… Even cancer cells require a certain threshold of genetic stability, crossing which can render them vulnerable to elimination. This study identifies a potential biomarker of genomic stability in pancreatic cancers (DPY30), loss of which leads to chromosomal instability & T cell mediated clearance of cells with complex karyotypes.

2/3. We identified a non canonical function of the WRAD core in sustaining genomic stability by buffering excessive #DNAreplication in #PancreaticCancer.

3/3. DPY30-depleted cancer cells accumulate DNA damage and chromosomal instability, promoting their own clearance by CD8+ T cells.

Thrilled to share our new work @biorxivpreprint: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… Our Repli-Histo labeling marks nucleosomes in euchromatin and heterochromatin in live cells. We reveal genome chromatin is essentially replicated from regions with greater nucleosome motions. 1/2
