I once watched a basketball coach prepare his team for a tough drill. Before the drill began, he told them, "This drill is going to be new. It will be difficult. You're going to fail a lot. Part of this drill isn't just execution-it's how you respond to failure, mistakes, and the pressure I'm about to put on you."
As expected, the drill was tough. Players messed up repeatedly.
They made communication errors, grew frustrated, and struggled with the challenge.
However, because the coach had warned them beforehand, the team was less frustrated, learned faster, and picked up the drill more effectively than they would have otherwise.
This is the power of priming. It’s simply preparing athletes for adversity before it arrives.
Before a difficult drill, let the players know it will be hard and that mistakes are expected.
Emphasize that the drill isn't just about physical skill, it's designed to build individual and collective resilience.
Frame the drill as practice in handling frustration, communicating under pressure, and bouncing back quickly.
Remind them that the same adversity will show up in games, and this is the opportunity to get those reps in.
Jim Leonhard on Cole Bishop: "The more that we have consistency around him, the more he settles in and plays fast." #Bills 🤔

The most Jim Leonhard feeling play of the season, a C0 glitch blitz on 3rd & 8
-Two IDL false rush then sink into the seams/low hole
-Man coverage with no Safety help
-6 man pressure look makes BAL 4 man slide, creating a 2-on-1 vs the RB

We did this with @Sting in 1991 in WCW (vs Ravishing Rick Rude), and the industry has repeated it with great success in numerous circumstances.
My most sincere compliments to the @NFL's creative team.
Nicely done!
PS - Have you checked out The Roundtable? Over 1,000,000 verified views just on @YouTube and growing STRONG. You didn't think I'd have your attention for the moment and not promote this magnificent discussion?
Anyway. I digress.
I love football.
Even though it's pre-determined.

Yaxel Lenderborg on his NBA debut and guarding Luka: "I got to see what the NBA is like, man. Lot of flopping, lot of foul baiting, lot of praying to the ref. Interesting first game for me... Being in there firsthand, just watching all the whining and complaining, I lost all respect. That was awful"
Transcript of this soundbite:
"Yeah, it was interesting. I got to see what the NBA is like, man. Lot of flopping, lot of foul baiting, lot of praying to the ref. Interesting first game for me, for sure.
I had a lot of respect for him (Luka). You know, just watching. I didn't really watch the NBA much, I just watched highlights. Seeing him, you know, kill people all the time. But then being in there firsthand, just watching all the whining and complaining, I lost all respect, man. Like that was awful.
Like me getting frustrated, it's not about the foul being called, it's about him complaining the entire game. And then you get the foul call, congratulations bro. And then you talk to me like you did something great, bro? Come on, dog. That's just weak. It kinda threw me off for a little while, cause you know, like I said, I had so much respect for him. Gone man, gone.
I was telling him he sucks, he can't score on me. You talking and you can't score on me. I said it the whole game. I said a couple cuss words obviously, you know, that's why I got the technical and all that. But I was letting him know, because he was laughing and talking all this because of that one foul call.
His only bucket on me was a banker from half court. Like I know that it's a team sport. You know, he had 28pts on us as a team. Me, I took my matchup personally. Tried not to get caught on the fouls. Tried my best. I was thinking about playing him with my hands behind my back to see if that worked, probably would've still got a foul call."

🚨In 2015, the Milwaukee Brewers sold 1000 “Timeless Tickets” to fans for $1000 each that could be used for ANY game in the future
The Brewers confirmed they are honoring "Timeless Ticket" redemptions for World Series games

Beautiful
-man cov indicator pre snap
-the Edge peels with Ty Johnson who baits him into the block from McGovern (66)
-Anderson (70) and Dawkins (73) put their assignments into the dirt, eliminating backside pursuit
-Tylan Grable (68) MOTORING DOWNFIELD

This is a great coordinated effort from the Bills block team.
55 is able to blast/grab the TE while 96 occupied the LT. Rousseau slips between them for the block

They didn’t need to run the clock out. Whether there was 50 seconds or 0 seconds, a made FG ends the game

Greg Rousseau (15) sets the Edge and widens the RB’s track + brings him down, while DeWayne Carter (90) backdoors the RG, preventing any cut upfield from the RB, and works down the line

Case Keenum was 11/11 against blitz with 143 yards and 2 TDs
PFF gave him a… 55.7 grade against the blitz

• 8 TFL’s (Top-5 in NFL)
• 8 QB hits (1st in NFL)
