Temporary nuclear restrictions, while Iran continued developing ballistic missiles, expanding its military capabilities and supporting Hezbollah, the Houthis and militias across Iraq and Syria. And throughout this period, the Iranian regime continued brutally repressing its own people, imprisoning dissidents, torturing political opponents and hanging its own citizens. Iran’s proxy network threatened American bases, attacked Western allies and destabilised the Middle East. Now you criticise Trump over the war, American casualties, depleted ammunition stockpiles and the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz. THIS IS THE DANGER OF APPEASEMENT. THE LEADERS WHO COME AFTER ARE LEFT TO CONFRONT THE THREATS THEIR PREDECESSORS FAILED TO CONTAIN. History offers a powerful warning. In the 1930s, Britain and France pursued appeasement with Hitler, hoping concessions would prevent another European war. Instead, Nazi Germany continued expanding, and the next generation of leaders faced the catastrophe of World War II. In 1994, the United States and its allies negotiated a nuclear agreement with North Korea. Twelve years later, Pyongyang conducted its first nuclear test. History does not judge leaders merely by the agreements they sign. It judges them by the consequences those agreements leave behind.
