Fav quotes from @AdamMGrant’s book: The purpose of #learning isn’t to affirm our beliefs; it’s to evolve our beliefs. If #knowledge is power, knowing what we don’t know is wisdom. Scientific #thinking favors humility over pride, doubt over uncertainty, curiosity over closure. – at California, USA

Justin Chang’s review of ‘La Bola Negra’ in The New Yorker completely misses the mark. Calling Ambrossi and Calvo’s work "extravagantly overwrought" or a "clumsy gesture" reveals a profound misunderstanding of Spanish culture and how we process our own history. The fact that Chang singles out Glenn Close as the saving grace, a performance that is frankly just 'okay' and clearly a polite wink to the English-speaking audience, says it all. To grasp the DNA of this film, you need the cultural vocabulary of early Almodóvar or Carlos Saura. What Chang dismisses as "outsized melodrama" across three eras is actually a brilliant, visceral reflection of Spain’s unresolved Civil War trauma. Generational grief is maximalist, messy, and all-encompassing. The film isn't arrogant; it's necessary. #LaBolaNegra #SpanishCinema

Grok @Bot can research which doctors are the best in your area, call them by phone and make an appointment!
Grok Bot just made a doctor's appointment for me while I was driving... My daughter hurt her foot landing a jump at dance practice. I told Grok Bot what happened, how she was feeling, and what I saw: not much swelling, iced, and her pain seemed manageable. It gave me a few nearby options, including a pediatric orthopedist with X-rays on site, and offered to call when they opened. Grok Bot called and got her in at 9:30 the same day. The whole call was transcribed live, and when the receptionist asked for more info, it asked me in real time. It also got the insurance, payment options and pricing, had the intake forms sent to my email, and put it on my calendar. The receptionist knew the call was recorded, and I could review the recording afterward. All while I was driving. Grok Bot is going to completely change people's lives.

Some leaders lead with their heads so fast that their feelings never catch up. Others never let their feelings into the office at all. My new podcast guest, Pam Manfredo Curtis, author of The Origin of a Leader, and I talk about how to help these "severed-head" leaders integrate their emotional lives with their analytical strengths without losing any of their sharpness or authority. She also explains why leaders become far more effective once they do. Please don't miss! #Leadership #Management #HR #SHRM #LeadFromTheHeart #EmployeeWellBeing #Education buff.ly/SaEOfYC

Roughly 80% of how we act, think and present ourselves in the world was shaped in childhood, by our parents, siblings, the people closest to us and the significant events we lived through. That's the thesis of my new podcast guest, Pam Manfredo Curtis, in her book, The Origin of a Leader: Transforming Family Patterns Into #Leadership Power. Most of us carry those patterns into our #work without knowing it. Often this limits our managerial effectiveness. Please don't miss! #WellBeing #KnowThyself #Management #HR #Success buff.ly/SaEOfYC

Do not take yourself too seriously. Laugh loudly. Stay optimistic, accept rejection, learn from mistakes, work hard, forgive first, show up on time, fight against sense of entitlement, hold doors open a bit longer, and travel light without carrying resentment or bitterness.

The #CEO of #AmericanExpress is the newest to announce layoffs because of #AI, but before #AI justifies eliminating any jobs. They do this because no one pushes back on AI as the reason.
