"On behalf of patriotic Australians, who value Western freedoms and who have heard your tireless warnings about expansive, Islamic fundamentalism, we comfort you today in your grief and we pray for regime change in your beloved Iran. May the peace and freedom and dignity of Iran be restored swiftly, and may the blood of your courageous dissidents not be spilt in vain.
Democide—the mass killings of unarmed civilians by government—and the suppression of Iranians is sadly not a new phenomenon in the treacherous history of the Ayatollah-governed Islamic theocracy. Since 1979, Iran's plight has been a warning to the West of what it's like to lose your nation to Islamic fundamentalism.
Around 60 years ago, the last Shah of Iran warned of the 'red and black alliance', an unholy alliance of radical Marxism and radical Islam. Both incidentally share an irrational hatred of Israel, who is in fact an ancient and true friend of Iran. At the time, the Shah made these comments, many in Iran and the West laughed his comments off. Except for Marxist and Islamists, no one is laughing today.
To our Iranian-Australian friends here today, we acknowledge, particularly after the Bondi Islamist terror attack, that the war against the West has arrived here too. Hard-line Marxists and Islamic fundamentalists are counting on the goodwill and tolerance of Aussies to exert dominance in this nation.
Thank you for faithfully warning of the devastating cost of yielding to Islamist pressure and guilt manipulation, particularly as it relates to the war in Gaza. Australians are a people of goodwill and fair go to all. Where our tolerance has become ignorance and enabling of the most hateful and destructive ideologies in our midst, let us replace such with vigilance and moral strength and clarity as is characteristic of a Christian nation.
The hope and prosperity and security of Australia and all Western nations is in a resolute returning to our Christian foundations and its objective morality. Only then will we rise above ravaging Marxist and Islamist ideology and offer clarity and strength to our friends in the Middle East.
God have mercy on the people of Iran and bring to an end their long winter of oppression. God bless you."

A year ago—and just weeks before the Islamist terrorist massacre of Aussies at Bondi—I sounded this warning in Queens Gardens in Brisbane.

In their minds, any conspiracy (you name it) will have behind it, lurking, an 'evil Jew'.
Without doubt, antisemitism—cloaked today in fashionable 'anti-Zionism'—is an alarming indicator of the abandonment of reason and rational thought in a society. Antisemitism truly is the hobgoblin of small minds and it is an accurate barometer of rising violent fascism and the Islamification of a nation.
For this reason, Australian citizenship should not be granted to anyone who harbours vile antisemitism and who unashamedly indoctrinates their children with the same deranged ideology.

Even though I am an evangelical Christian, I have always defended the Catholic and Maronite statues in Lebanon and opposed evangelicals who wanted them removed.
My reason was not theological. It was civilizational.
In Lebanon, when you entered a town or village and saw a statue of Jesus, Mary, or a saint standing publicly, it meant that this place had not yet been Islamized.
It meant Christians still possessed enough freedom and confidence to display their faith publicly.
The statue was therefore more than a statue. It was a civilizational marker. It announced that Islam was not sovereign over that space.
When evangelicals attacked those statues purely on theological grounds, they failed to understand what they were helping to dismantle.
In their zeal to remove what they considered an unbiblical symbol, they were also weakening a visible symbol of the very freedom that allowed evangelicals themselves to exist, preach, convert, and criticize.
I see Christians in the West making a similar mistake today with the Jews.
They attack Jews or Israel for theological reasons while failing to understand the civilizational struggle taking place around them.
Israel is under attack by forces that do not merely see it as another country. They see Israel as an outpost and symbol of the Western order they despise.
When Christians turn against Jews simply because Judaism rejects Christ, they may believe they are defending theological truth while, in reality, helping the forces that are hostile to Christianity as well.
Lebanese Christians needed those Catholic statues even when evangelicals believed the statues were unbiblical.
And the West needs the unbelieving Jew for the same civilizational reason.
You do not have to agree with someone theologically to understand that his freedom, his survival, and his continued presence is bound up with your own.

In my career from the @WhiteHouse and U.S. Senate to @IRIglobal, @Heritage, and the U.S. Tea Party, I have never met anyone who was "pro-war."
Maybe it exists among defense contractors.
But especially on Iran policy, it is being misused as a pejorative in our political lexicon.
The retreat by the Australian church has created a vacuum that is being filled by socially destructive ideologies like Islamic fundamentalism, queer and trans theory, animism, and the barbaric feminist philosophy that underpins the abortion-on-demand industry.
Our national conscience has become polluted and poisoned inasmuch as the church has deserted her post as the prophetic voice in the city gates.
