Thinking about PSR workers out there today in the cold trying to make sure our houseless neighbors make it through the night. Will be a high priority for me to make sure PSR has the resources it needs to do its job, while making sure mgmt isn’t working against them like Rene did.

Everytime I’ve spoken with Mayor Wilson he’s come across as a thoughtful and responsive listener. I hope he takes time to talk to Portland Street Response employees about the implications of a move like this.
We are deeply disappointed that @kwilsonformayor, without consulting any expertise or PSR responders, has already proposed the end of PSR as we know it by turning them into to an extension of law enforcement. This is unacceptable And we won’t let it happen. More to come. #SavePSR

Another upsetting development from the debate was when we learned that Portland Street Response staffing levels were cut in half under @CommissionerRG. #DontRankRene

With Portland’s new Ranked-Choice Voting system, every ranking counts. Even a last-place vote can help a candidate win. If you don’t support Rene Gonzalez, leave him off your ballot entirely. #DontRankRene

A re-determination by the Portland Auditor's Office finds Portland City Commissioner Rene Gonzalez used taxpayer funds to benefit his campaign. Investigators say he and his staffers lied about key documents and tried to interfere with the investigation. portlandmercury.com/news/202…

Let’s get this straight. PPB can do ride alongs with candidates. CHAT can do info sessions with candidates. But @PortlandGov is prohibiting Portland Street Response from doing the same? We can #SavePSR by electing these champions: friendsofpsr.com wweek.com/news/2024/10/03/ci…

I was one of many candidates invited to CHAT by Portland Fire Bureau. It was informative and important for candidates to know about. For the city to cancel the PSR meeting because “the city doesn’t want to be political” is the city being REALLY political. wweek.com/news/2024/10/03/ci…

Hey @PortlandGov can you please speak to this and provide an explanation as to why @PDXStResponse sessions were canceled if this is indeed true? It is imperative that candidates running for council are briefed on all of the resources in our community, especially those that provide trauma-informed care.

I've been on ride-alongs with PPB and PF&R and was very much looking forward to today's meeting with PSR. It's critical for candidates to meet face to face with emergency responders. – at Portland, OR

The city cancelled a scheduled Portland Street Response info session for city candidates last-minute. A near-identical event held for candidates about another Fire and Rescue program - CHAT - went forward yesterday. Coincidental timing? I imagine not. wweek.com/news/2024/10/03/ci…

Rene is making our communities less safe. He undermined the popular Portland Street Response - our unarmed 911 option to assist people in crisis - cutting funding & staffing. On his watch, 911 wait times have remained far worse than the national average. dontrankrene.org

I'm proud to receive this endorsement. If elected I'll fight hard to secure the funding that PSR needs to do its job 24/7. It's good for the budget, it's good for our community and will move us forward as a city. Thank you @FriendsofPSR for your tireless advocacy.

We are thrilled to see that after almost 2 years of mismanagement (as confirmed by multiple independent audits) that Portland Street Response will no longer be under @CommissionerRG, who failed to support and grow one of the most popular programs at the City of Portland.
