Code-Execution Flaw In UEFI Firmware Threatens Most Servers On Planet Earth ift.tt/euAVjB6
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The headline overstates the risk; the flaw only affects EDK2-based systems actively PXE network-booting and requires local network access during that narrow window.

Whoops
Sony has suffered a massive data breach affecting around 2.58 million So-net and plala customers.
Sony Network Communications says hackers accessed its member database on October 19. Leaked information includes:
• Names
• User IDs
• Email addresses
• Other customer information
• 16 bank account records, including account numbers and bank names
The company says it has not found any leaked credit card numbers or expiration dates, and it does not store customers’ bank PINs.
Sony says the affected servers have been shut down and the unauthorized connections blocked, while internet services continue to operate.

This is one of the milestones.

Something’s been weighing on me. I have to talk about this, even if some of you won’t agree; it's time to say it straight. I also want to share the clip, so think for yourself.

Extortion is the act of obtaining money, property, services or any advantage by using threats, force, menaces, accusations or violence to coerce someone into compliance, without reasonable justification. In Canadian law (Criminal Code s.346), it covers inducing or attempting to induce any person to do something with intent to obtain anything.

The ALPHA & OMEGA
Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. In Revelation, Jesus declares: “I am the Alpha and the Omega.”
This title affirms that Christ is the eternal beginning and end of all things, the Creator, Judge, and Lord over time and history.

In another case, an immigrant carjacker who tried to murder a cop was told "systemic racism" had made him do it ... only for the judge to note that his victims were also "racialized," which made the crime more serious. We've never seen institutionalized racism quite like this.
In just 15 days, I found *two* separate instances in which a career criminal was sentenced for pimping out an Indigenous girl ... only to have his sentence reduced because he was black and "systemic racism" had made him do it. nationalpost.com/opinion/fir…
While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected.
Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions.
Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent.
But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models?
We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem.
