The fear is totally justified.
For example, a game like Zelda OOT Remake doesn't have to move out of the way because it stands strong on its own and plenty of people will choose to play that instead or buy both at launch.
But if you're a new IP or something smaller, the success of your game depends on that initial market share and word of mouth. You should absolutely get out of GTA6's way to maximize your potential sales.
It just makes sense and is smart business strategy. 🤷♂️
Gaming in 2026 has been absolutely insane! I feel so spoiled 😂

A24 is reportedly spending nearly $200 million on its Elden Ring movie, by far the most expensive film the studio has ever produced.
For comparison, A24’s previous record was Marty Supreme, with a budget of around $70 million.
The Elden Ring adaptation is planned for 2028 and represents a massive jump in scale for a studio best known for independent and unconventional movies.
A24 has also grown into a major industry brand, valued at around $3.5 billion as of 2024.
Loving Belmont's Curse so far.
I will say though - I've been able to beat the bosses by rapidly attacking and tanking damage instead of focusing on learning the patterns.
You still gotta learn the patterns but the game rewards speed as opposed to precision when defeating bosses.
Hoping the bosses get more challenging.
