New: Driving EVs vs. gas light-duty vehicles over next decade can enable AZ state & local governments to save over 1M barrels of oil; reduce GHG emissions by same amount as produced by 81,000 typical cars in a year; + more! nature.ly/3HrbImc @ArizonaPIRG @FrontierGroupUS

2022 data shows that 50 facilities emitted more greenhouse gasses than any single state but Texas. The #Top50ClimatePolluters released 7% of the U.S.’s total emissions. Fossil fuel power plants top the list. Analysis from @FrontierGroupUS: frontiergroup.org/resources/…

A more succinct way of putting what I said to @jholz__ is that tying clean energy to fossil fuel expansion is like hitting the gas while riding the brake. Maybe you move forward without skidding out. But you're sure to leave a whole lot of smoke behind. heatmap.news/politics/permit…

One trend in the projects we've highlighted in recent years: rebuilds. Bridges and highways built in the first half of the 20th century need to be refurbished or replaced, but we're not talking enough about what to replace them *with.*
NEW: The eighth edition of our Highway Boondoggles report on wasteful and destructive highway projects is now out. See which new projects made the cut, and catch up on the status of boondoggles from years gone by. frontiergroup.org/resources/…

Proud of the work my @uspirg & @copirg colleagues inc. @nProctor & @dannykatzbc have been doing to make sure farmers, hospital technicians & all of us with #cellphones have the #RightToRepair. Great piece feat. Nathan from Barry Petersen @CBSNews.
In some cases, American farmers aren't able to or allowed to make repairs, even on the equipment they own. Right to repair laws are aiming to change that, and may have other implications. Barry Petersen has the story.

Why do climate advocates prioritize stopping fossil fuel infrastructure? In part, because fossil fuel production, transportation and processing *is itself* a major source of GHG emissions regardless of where and how the fuels are used.

My family regularly repairs our stove, replaces our cell-phone screen when they crack, patches our favorite pants, etc... Farmers should be able to do the same with their tractors, combines and other equipment.

Time to put a stop to ambulance #surprisebills. We are working with families like Baby Theo's to win federal protections from out-of-network charges for lifesaving transportation.
Baby Theo's parents received a $7,000 bill for an ambulance ride he needed in order to receive care at a children's hospital. Despite legislation protecting Americans from most surprise medical bills, families like Theo’s are still seeing high costs for those lifesaving rides.
