The RSS has termed the UGC Equity Regulations, 2026, “unbalanced.”
RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar said:
“The Sangh has made its position clear that the UGC circular was unbalanced. This concern was brought to the attention of the authorities, and both the government and the UGC took note of it.
The court has also stayed the regulations, and the matter is currently sub judice.
We believe that whatever decision is taken going forward must be balanced. The government must ensure this, and we expect the matter to proceed before the court in the same direction.”
The BIG takeaway from the Opposition’s mega rally?
Rahul Gandhi ji won’t let Modi ji go anywhere.
Even if Kharge ji says Modi must go, Rahul ji says NO.
Even if Modi ji wants to leave, Rahul ji won’t let him!
Come on, @BJP4India, just admit it, Bro is on your team!

At this rate, Congress should simply organise a mock general election, declare itself victorious and appoint Rahul Gandhi Prime Minister.
Why bother convincing 1.4 billion Indians when a room full of Congress workers can make all your dreams come true?
What a spectacular descent into political make-believe!
Total jokers.
#WATCH | Delhi: At the INDIA bloc's symbolic public impeachment program against CEC Gyanesh Kumar, Former Lok Sabha Speaker and Congress leader Meira Kumar says, "...It has been decided that the INDIA bloc will convene a meeting to bring forward an impeachment motion to remove Gyanesh Kumar from his position. This impeachment motion will be moved in the Rajya Sabha by the Leader of the Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge, who will subsequently deliver a statement...Ours is the largest democracy in the world. Nations across the globe, in Asia, Africa, and South America, look up to us and follow our model of democracy. Our democracy is driven by the power of elections, and at the heart of this electoral power lies the soul of the voter. The voter is the focal point of the entire electoral process. If even a single voter is denied the right to cast their vote, it strikes a blow to the very soul of our democracy. Preventing someone from voting inflicts harm upon our democracy."

"Not Every Insult or Threat Amounts to an Offence Under the SC/ST Act": Allahabad High Court
The Allahabad High Court has discharged Firozabad resident Bhuri Singh from charges under the SC/ST Act, while allowing the assault case against him to continue.
Justice Santosh Rai, sitting as a single-judge bench, observed that not every insult or threat amounts to an offence under the SC/ST Act. The law applies only when a person is insulted or humiliated specifically because they belong to a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe.
The court noted that the prosecution material contained no specific allegation of caste-based slurs. Continuing proceedings under the SC/ST Act in the absence of such evidence would amount to an abuse of the legal process.
The case was registered at Tundla police station in Firozabad district. Bhuri Singh was accused of assaulting Prashant Kumar and using caste-based abuses against the complainant.
Challenging the summoning order issued by the Special Judge, Firozabad, on February 5 this year, Bhuri Singh approached the High Court seeking its cancellation.
His counsel argued that he had been falsely implicated due to an old rivalry. The initial statements and FIR did not mention any caste-based abuse, which was allegedly added later in a statement before the magistrate.
The court observed that the statements indicated that the accused had struck Prashant Kumar on his left ear with a hard, blunt object. However, the alleged dispute arose after Prashant threw a stone towards the accused's dog.
The court found no statement containing caste-based slurs suggesting that Prashant was insulted specifically because of his caste. It also found no evidence that the incident took place in public view, another essential requirement for invoking the relevant provisions of the SC/ST Act.
The medical report recorded a simple cut injury behind the ear.
Accordingly, the High Court quashed the SC/ST Act charges but allowed the proceedings relating to the alleged assault to continue.
