This shocked me
#Commanders RB Bill Croskey-Merritt is much more than a sophomore 7th-round back. He was one of the best players in the NFL at doing EXACTLY what David Blough wants him to do
I'm not exaggerating. Take a look for yourself👇

Adam Peters is facing the biggest test of his tenure as the #Commanders GM
There are three options at the trade deadline:
-Buy
-Sell
-Do nothing
Two of them — buying and selling — are acceptable choices. Doing nothing, which would be the easiest, would be an abject failure
The worst position for a sports franchise to be in is the middle. At the top, you're contending, and at the bottom, you're reloading. Mike Tomlin is one of the best coaches in recent history, yet he's routinely memed for being an 8-8/9-8 football coach
This team has both areas to improve and assets it can afford to lose. Choose a direction and do so confidently. The best GMs are ruthless in their decision-making
Let's see how this goes...

Payne: Don’t let an asset you know you’re losing in free agency leave for nothing
Amik: Not going anywhere, trade value isn’t too high and he’s been excellent
Chaisson: No guarantee he re-signs, but the youth and versatility are appealing
Armstrong: the type of plug-and-play pass-rusher that contenders want, might be able to get a team to pay more than they want if they think they’re close
Four #Commanders made @TheAthleticNFL's 50-player trade deadline big board, and @danielrpopper didn't hold back.
"It is time for GM Adam Peters to sell and salvage what he can from this roster."
Washington's names:
• No. 13 Daron Payne: final year of his deal, tied for the team lead with 17 pressures
• No. 18 Amik Robertson: top corner on the board, no fully guaranteed money in 2027
• No. 27 K'Lavon Chaisson: on a one-year deal, also 17 pressures
• No. 46 Dorance Armstrong: final year, 10 pressures coming back from a torn ACL
Payne, Chaisson and Armstrong are all in the last year of their contracts and hit free agency after this season. Robertson is the only one signed through 2027.
Trading those three only gives up the rest of this season. Trading Robertson gives up next year too.
If you were Adam Peters, how much would you sell, if anything?

“Stay on that side” mentality makes no sense people should be allowed to revise their opinion with new info / tape
And this just leads to people getting dug in on wrong takes and ignoring all evidence just so they never admit they’re wrong
The pick at #4 would be either be SCAR EDGE Dylan Stewart or Notre Dame CB Leonard Moore
Not to air out dirty laundry, but the Steelers just dropped both DTs into coverage as part of a blitz and it worked

Literally heard the junks tell Adam Peters that the media is bashing Jayden like they didn’t send out tweets knocking him all week. You have the right to your opinion, but don’t switch up when you have the GM on the call.
Head coach says they’re looking to find the right combination of linemen
GM says they’re standing pat
What will happen? Find out in the next episode!

Not sure how the #Commanders don’t make another change to their starting offensive line on the back of these comments from Dan Quinn
This part might be reaching, but I found his use of the term “pocket presence” intriguing. That’s normally a term you use in the context of quarterbacks, and I wonder if he’s using it to explain some plays where Jayden might’ve gotten off a read or made up his mind too quickly

Adam Peters also mentioned Jayden in his comments today xitter.cf/JayDanielsMVP/status/2…
#Commanders GM Adam Peters on the possibility of shuffling players at O-line:
“This last game we didn’t protect as well as we needed to. I think on the average the guys have done a pretty good job. I think the numbers would show that as well…in terms of moving forward, there hasn’t been any discussion of shuffling anybody or doing anything like that. We have to find ways to get Jayden a little more time when he needs it…”

This interception is not Drake Maye’s fault and 100% on Eli Raridon. Maye throws a perfect ball but Raridon doesn’t adjust and block out the receiver. That’s a TD 99/100 times if the tight end adjusts the way he should.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Drake Maye threw an underthrown pass intended for Eli Raridon that was intercepted by Bears LB D'Marco Jackson in the end zone. Maye and coach Mike Vrabel said afterward that Maye wished he had the throw back.
