Confused about the relationship between a compressor's Threshold and Ratio parameters? A lower Threshold subjects a wider range of input levels to compression, while higher Ratio settings create a more drastic compression effect when audio exceeds the threshold.

If you’re a non-drummer who wants to do MIDI drum parts, once you *truly* understand the nuances drummers put into music with how they *play*, you can put those nuances into your music with how you *program*. Drums aren't clocks: they tell stories. Tell a *story* with your drums.

HEY, IT'S TIME FOR THE "FIRST WEEK OF THE MONTH" NAG TO BACK UP YOUR DATA!! Sorry about the shouting, I just didn't want to seem out of step with the rest of the social media world :) Anyway, you're artists, you matter, *we need your art*, please back up your data!

It's the 1st week of the month, the year, and the decade, so it's time for my monthly nag to BACK UP YOUR DATA! Image your root drive, check the battery in your uninterruptible power supply, and back up enough to restore your system if there's a ransomware attack. Do it now!!

You know what the 1st week of the month means: My nag to BACK UP YOUR DATA, which is the most valuable part of your computer! **And do it to an external drive you keep disconnected from your computer, just in case you get hit by ransomware.**
