The Story So Far...📖
More footy, more Arsenal, more content on the way - we're gonna be here for a while and have fun with it 🙏

Some Arsenal advanced stats.
The only area I think we're poor in is causing our opposition to have possession losses in dangerous areas when we press.
We've been exceptional this season, overall.

This is an interesting chart. The thing that jumps out to me is Haaland. Yes he's still "very good" against the top teams. But look at him versus the "rest." That's where he laps the field.
Haaland is City's cheat code for not dropping points against weaker teams. We might say that makes him a flat track bully, but it's incredibly valuable over the course of a very attritional Premier League season.
It may also explain why they're less successful in the CL where he's not as big of an advantage in the latter stages

You hit the nail on the head on something that people fail to realize about our use of strikers and why people just don’t understand the way we play. Our strikers are mainly used as decoys. They’re the ones freeing up space for others
Great analysis. Gyökeres' run stretches the defence back, giving Rice more space to receive and drive between the lines.
That being said, I would have preferred Rice to pass to Gyökeres there, but the pass he chose isn't bad.
This, however, continues an issue I have with how we're using Gyökeres. It looks like we see him as a dummy runner rather than an actual outlet. Multiple times last season, I've seen scenarios where Gyökeres is in the optimal position, but his teammate chooses to pass to another teammate who is also in a good position, just not a better position.
Even this season, MLS did it when he could have given a simple square-play pass but cut it to Eze for a good but lower xG chance (against Lille).
I need them to start seeing him as the finisher rather than just the one to drag defenders.

Arsenal sold their best players to City and Chelsea and United and Barca for over a decade. To balance books. Spare us the lecture, we lived EXACTLY what you’re doing through.
The difference now is nobody wants to leave us, because we’re the Champions.

Emery has a positive net spend. He’s spent a lot because he’s had to replace more than a dozen starting players.

The thing about this app is that they don't actually watch football and so when they do finally catch a game they have to make sweeping declarations to pretend they've been watching

Arteta is ‘expected’ to win the Premier League every single season yet he’s not even top 4 highest spenders since he’s been here.

When people say “this isn’t Man United”, what they’re really saying is that it isn’t Fergie’s Man United. They’ve been shit now for 13 years since he left and they were shit for 25 years before he joined

Do you know what I love about another club being torn apart as an Arsenal fan?
Throughout the “banter era”, Wenger regularly achieved top 4. You man fighting relegation and finishing 10th are disgraceful.
Always find it funny when fans of other clubs try to gaslight on Emery's Arsenal stint.
We know what we saw and it was diabolical, move on.

I’m praying to God he’s right, my one wish was to see United become Leeds, I never thought it would be attainable but long live the Glazers. Best owners on earth
Easiest Layup.
- One of if not would’ve been THE face of the Premier League.
- Would’ve got his royalties at Arsenal
- Team was built for an X factor like him
- Legacy would’ve been even higher for him.
Bozo.
