Gm gm, wanted to give a personal update before the Asia Conference Circuit starts. I am winding down my time at @CapApp and will be departing from my position as Head of Growth at the end of the month and go all-in @UFGDeFi. This was not an easy decision to make but it is the right one. It's been an honor & pleasure working alongside @Benjamin918_ and the entire Cap team. Benjamin has stated that he wanted to get together a team of A+ players and he really did here. I've learned a lot over the past 21 months; It's hard not to when Cap is truly pursuing innovation in a sea of sameness. I'm proud of my work in bringing awareness and light to these efforts, especially in today's attention landscape. As Cap continues to advance a new form of credit to the productive economy, I'll be rooting for them from the sidelines and I know they will do me proud. Yes it has been fun being "TradFi Dave" for a bit, but in reality DeFi Dave never left. Whether that is what @Cibolan2000 and I have been cooking at UFG or with the interviews @patfscott and I have been doing with @FullyVested_Pod, what both have in common is they are a vision of DeFi I want to see in the world. Time is precious and there are few moments that are given to you where you can actually have an impact. Right now is one of those moments and I would be not true to myself if I didn't pursue it with all my heart and soul. For everyone who has been apart of my crypto journey for the past 9.5 years, your support means more than you'll know to me. And as I enter this next chapter, I leave everyone with a quote from the greatest himself, Muhammad Ali: “If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it - then I can achieve it.” I stand by those words. One month ago, @patfscott and I sat down with the Head of Product at Robinhood Chain for @FullyVested_Pod where he laid out his vision for the network. Viewers should view this episode as a time capsule, comparing what is said here and how @RobinhoodCrypto has executed on building a genuine ecosystem.

Pretty surreal getting to talk to one of the OGs of DeFi @newmichwill for an hour. You can see how for the majority of the interview Patrick and I sat our asses down and listened to Michael go off about his experiences and stories over the past decade+. One of my favorite parts of the interview was when he said the inspiration for CRV tokenomics came from his time in Seattle doing his post-grad work and seeing how Boeing buybacks worked. He thought to himself this could be improved and years later he cam up with ve- tokenomics. Who would've thought. But overall, Michael is a pioneer in the space and we are lucky to have him still building and pushing boundaries 🫡

Getting back to my roots with this one. Sam is always incredibly articulate and on top of that has the experience to take deeply on how DeFi and crypto has evolved over the last decade. For example, when discussing the token/equity split debate, Sam cites a famous case that has been mostly forgottten about; Block One and EOS in 2017. $4 Billion raised. Mandate of Heaven almost guaranteed. BUT nothing could be done to save EOS from misaligned incentives. It will be interesting to observe how tokens and equity evolve in the future and how they possibly and hopefully converge overtime.

Really enjoyed this interview with @wagmiAlexander and have immense respect for all the progress he’s made at @aeroxyz & @VelodromeFi. Him and his team got together like how the great DeFi teams of old used to get together… on a discord server. They took a model for how dex spot trading should be done onchain and ran with it, tweaking different parts of the system, and establishing relationships with the likes of Coinbase to make it successful. We hear a lot about perp trading but not as much conversation regarding spot which could be argued is a bigger opportunity as more and more assets come onchain. I’m looking forward to their launch on mainnet, especially their launch of their Predictive Allocation engine. Watching closely.
