Congratulations to Chris Pile, who yesterday made his 3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣th First Team appearance for Welton Rovers. A wonderful servant to the Green Army over 12 seasons, Chris and the Pile family are a big part of the club’s modern history, beloved by Rovers supporters. Thank you Piler! 💚

Tonight’s 13-0 defeat is the biggest defeat in over 125 years of Welton Rovers history.

Very sad to see club captain Will Ford depart. His breakthrough was a rare positive in a difficult 3 years. Other than being a top player, Will’s a MSN lad from a family of Welton supporters, and it’s a real shame (though understandable) that he’s moved on. Good luck Fordy!

Good luck to Matt, and welcome back to West Clewes! Matt played for Welton in the 2004/05 season, under both our managers during that campaign: Bob Williams and Stuart Minall. He scored twice, including a goal in a 3-2 away win at Melksham Town.
Welton Rovers is delighted to announce the appointment of Matt Williamson as First Team Manager. Matt brings extensive knowledge and experience to the role, and would like to wish Matt the very best of luck in his new role and ask all supporters to join us in welcoming him:

Points deductions needed for non-league teams using AI for graphics and PR copy. The most basic design, or worst grammar, will always look better than AI slop.

On Christmas Day, Radstock Town tweeted telling Welton Rovers to “mind the gap”. Rovers were bottom of the league but still won the Boxing Day derby. Welton won the derby today too. 28 points since Xmas, while Town have won just once and are now in the relegation zone 🇳🇬

In the 21 matches between Wayne Thorne becoming WRFC manager and the registration deadline, 19 of said matches featured debutant players for Rovers. In total, 27 players made Welton debuts during the period. Fair play to club secretary Lee Curtis for that admin!

Poor from the @western_league to ask club photographers to share their photos with them yet for the League Cup Final they will only allow their own photographer and not any from either club. @swsportsnews @Love_non_league @NonLeagueHQ1 Happy to take our cake and scoff the lot 📸

Welton are on an excellent run of 3 wins from the last 5 games 📈 Welton’s previous 3 league wins spread across 76 matches and 7 different permanent managers, stretching back to October 2023. Brighter times ahead 🤞🏻🇳🇬

Great to see Sevs back scoring at West Clewes, his 42nd goal for the club across 4 spells. One more would lift Aaron to 4th place in Rovers’ list of 21st century goalscorers 🙌
35th minute A goal back for Welton. Aaron Seviour from close range. 1-3

Today’s defeat confirms that the 24/25 season will be the worst in the club’s 128 year history. In the 1989/90 season Rovers earned their previous lowest PPG of 0.35. If Welton were to win their remaining 3 fixtures they would secure a PPG of only 0.32.

An official attendance of 30 spectators at West Clewes this afternoon. That’s Welton’s lowest home attendance since 1 May 2007 (28 supporters v Willand Rovers on a Tuesday night).

Very sad to hear of the passing of Keith Simmons. Welton’s 3rd Highest All-Time Goalscorer, and a member of our 1959/60 2nd Division winning side. Keith (bottom right) netted 130 goals from 59-64 (including the club’s first under an official ‘team manager’!) A club great! 🇳🇬

Confirmation that since the appointment of Total Pro Soccer as management of the club, Welton are sadly little more than Corsham Town Reserves. No game for Corsham today so the team is flooded with 4+ of their players.

🎉 Today’s massive 7-4 victory ends Welton’s run of 29 consecutive league defeats, stretching back to April 2024. The club’s previous longest league losing streak was 11 matches, in the 1962/63 season.

After today’s defeat Welton Rovers have conceded 144 league goals so far this season. This is a new club record for league goals conceded in a season, overtaking the 142 conceded in 1937/38 (34 game season).

Great to see Joe Kemmery back at the club! Same power, running and quick feet (and late lunging tackles 😂) as when he was tearing things up in the Under 18s. Hoping he’ll stick around for the rest of the season 🇳🇬

The club’s become fodder for content-stealing, blue-tick grifter accounts. A new low.
WORST FOOTBALL CLUB IN ENGLAND?! 😳 Step 5 Welton Rovers have the following stats in 2024…. 48 matches 1 win 5 draws 42 defeats 212 goals conceded 4 points 5 managers 29 games without scoring 27 league games lost in a row
