Free fall. Where's the bottom?
BREAKING: The Philippine Peso has now breached the ₱64 per $1 USD mark in the intraday trading. 🇵🇭 The national currency just breached the ₱63 mark on October 15. This means that the peso slid sharply against the U.S. dollar in just 12 DAYS. 👇

It should have a Vatican-like succession governance procedure that the hoi polloi can watch from outside, observing the smoke signals
the mark of a sovereign center is the unconditioned capacity to designate its successor @centerstudy_

It’s kinda crazy to me that we melt sand down, clean it to 99.99999% purity, literal wizards have to draw it slowly into an ingot, we cut it, inscribe a hundred billion little on/off switches on it, and when you run electric current through it you can do basic arithmetic, which when you do enough of it can do any math on the planet, and which describes reality well enough that we can teach it the ontological meaning of words and their distance from each other on a high-dimensional space, and if you ask, it can tell you what word comes next and that apparently is powerful enough that if you do it a hundred billion times it’s the smartest thing to ever exist oh yeah and we use this primarily for email

The best, most comprehensive take on AI I’ve read. After a year of confusion and fear about the future, I finished it feeling like a weight had physically lifted. It’s long. Make the time. @vgr is undefeated. contraptions.venkateshrao.co…

What the game industry needs is sub $10m budget bangers like Expedition 33, wherever you are on in the current culture wars having > $100m budget games (before marketing!) guarantees that each game either needs to be a hit or the entire studio shuts down.

People will rent the robot and upgrade to the newest thing, much like car leasing
The home robot industry needs to address the obvious issue of having a giant and expensive obsolete thing in your house every few years

There’s something majestic about watching a Stargate explode in @EVE_Frontier. 🚀 @YieldGuild Can’t wait to see the final visual effects! Bullish! 🫡

The big question is, what's the business model?
Everything will be ported onto everything

This should be your COO
there is a certain personality type which will play Civilization or Factorio 14 hours a day pausing only to sleep and microwave food. this type can be absurdly economically productive if you can take the games away, give him a job, and get him to think of it as a videogame

Absolutely true. My question is, who pays for consuming games these days?
one thing is becoming abundantly clear creating games, is a game

Startups don't die from running out of cash. They die the exact moment the founders stop believing they're going to win.

200x DPI btw, you had to be at the right place at the right time and have the right friends
Lance Armstrong says doping cost him $111 million. A $100,000 check he wrote without knowing where it would end up saved his family. He didn't pick Uber. He picked a friend. In 2012 he lost his seven Tour de France titles. In 2013 he confessed on Oprah. Then the sponsors, the insurers and the US government came for the money. In the video below, in 2018, he adds it up on camera: "Loss of guaranteed income, legal fees and settlements, it came to 111 million bucks." The government alone had sued him for $100 million. He settled for $5 million. Then the other side of the ledger. Around 2009 an old friend, Chris Sacca, started a venture fund called Lowercase Capital and asked him to invest. He put in $100,000. "I didn't even know that he did Uber." The fund's biggest bet went in at a $3.7 million valuation. What's the $100,000 worth now? "$10, $20, $30, $40, $50 million? It's one of those. It's a lot. It's saved our family." Five months after that interview, Uber went public. My take: the best trade of his life wasn't a race or a sponsor deal. It was a check he barely thought about, to someone he trusted, in a company he'd never heard of. Most people's best investment looks just as boring when they make it. Did Armstrong earn his second fortune, or does luck like that make the first one too easy to forget?

Fortunately not true in my experience! GLP-1 has helped me curb "food noise" and still love life, lift weights every week and my appetite for life is still intact 😊
When you lose your appetite for food you lose your appetite for life. People on GLP-1 have this absence of gusto in them that makes them poor companions. They are almost as unpleasant to be with as longevity-health optimizers.
