Insane how much history and lore $LUKE has behind it
Merch, Reddit posts, comics, mentions from XMR core devs, Luis being recognized in Monero forums and by the community itself
And now almost 10 years later we’re still here bringing Luke back to life through a brand new animated series
This isn’t some random character created a few days ago, it’s Monero’s mascot with years of history behind it, even featured on the official @monero website
@helloluis is putting in work every single day, digging up old documents, sharing forgotten pieces of lore and genuinely rooting for Luke’s success
You can’t ask for much more when the original artist, the team and the community are all on the same page
That’s how real meme cultures are built
And regardless of market conditions, @xmrMoneroCat will keep building and pushing the lore forward
$LUKE is here to stay

And btw, been following your takes for a while, just don’t post. But think this one is interesting. Seems like it was launched by potentially sus “devs” - but don’t see how OG MoneroCat isn’t the highest EV play here. It’s the true Monero culture candidate
Funny (re)discovery! 9 years ago today, someone published a Russian translation of the @xmrMoneroCat ❤️
I guess it's a lot easier to pull something like this off nowadays, but back then I was really impressed that he went to the trouble of cracking open Photoshop and making sure all the dialogue fit into the word bubbles without adjusting the original font sizes.
I feel like a Korean version of the comic pages would be a pretty cool way to bring other regions in to our fandom!

Love the work you're putting in. Memecoins need something real to grasp onto. You're killing it. Read your series on the site too.
I've made it my goal to produce these one-minute animated shorts on X starring @xmrMoneroCat, so figuring out an efficient workflow was a big priority.
Initially, all I wanted to do was build a storyboard editor for myself so I could quickly assemble my episode scripts into a bunch of visual thumbnails to guide the rest of my video production workflow, but I realized I didn't need to stop there.
I could build a whole suite that would allow me to generate the keyframes inside my own dashboard, generate the videos to animate them, and then splice it all together in an in-browser video editor.
Coz why not build your own Capcut on a random Saturday?

Here for the rollercoaster ❤️
Love the way the $LUKE community responds through the ups and downs
Bunch of delusional bulls bagworking for their bread and genuinely believing in the lore, the history of Monero and its mascot
We’re slowly building a cult despite how new $LUKE is as a memecoin
Conviction above all

And one more thing: you'll notice that Hardfork speaks almost exclusively in rhymes, so his dialogue was always fun to write.
For comic buffs, I was inspired primarily by the demon Etrigan from DC ... but also the Green Lantern oath, which you will see an homage to in the next pages ...

Thoughts on a new pfp? @fluffypony
Here he is! HardForkMoneroCat was the big twist I'd been planning from the beginning of the comic book.
We've been zooming thru these pages quickly this week, but back in 2017 my publishing schedule meant that people would wait a few days between each page, so by the time this twist came along, readers had been following along for about a month. No one expected Hardfork!
And in terms of @monero history, the coin itself had hard-forked earlier in Sept 2017 to upgrade its privacy capabilities. So $HardForkMoneroCat the comic character was a direct reference to that major pivot ❤️
Here we go, the biggest twist of the entire comic!
For the @monero historians, there is a very specific reason why I came up with this second MoneroCat character ...

@helloluis' work is appreciated and recognized across the entire @monero ecosystem
Monero even features his artwork on their official website and gives him credit for it
Now connect the dots
Luke (@xmrMoneroCat), Monero's original mascot, is fully endorsed by Luis himself
The same artist who's been working on Luke for almost a decade and whose work is acknowledged by Monero
All while XMR is having an insane run and $LUKE is sitting under a milly?
The original mascot, the original artist fully onboard and almost 10 years of lore behind it
Yeah, that's crazy undervalued in my eyes
Sooner or later CT will catch up

This was the second group portrait I made for the @monero core dev team and my style had already changed a little bit since the first one! 8 years ago feels like multiple lifetimes haha
Did you know our artist @helloluis is featured on the official @monero website 🐱

Original artist holding is the only reason I’m even looking at $LUKE.

Still confident in $LUKE @xmrmonerocat, and I’m planning to use this pullback to around $650K market cap to add to my position.
A big part of my conviction comes from the original artist, @helloluis, who keeps creating and sharing new work every day. That consistency gives me a reason to follow the project beyond the chart. Every new piece adds to Luke’s story and gives people another way to connect with the character.
The price has pulled back, but the creativity keeps coming. I believe that continued output could help $LUKE reach a wider audience, and I still see room for another leg up.
No guarantees, but I’m happy to support the artist, build my position and give the story time to develop. 🐈⬛

I admire the chutzpah but I don't think a workflow is a moat either.
Any software worth selling is now easy to reverse engineer, so unless your app is already deeply entrenched or has some kind of regulatory advantage, all you're really doing is giving builders ideas for how to make a free version of whatever you're selling.
Case in point: I've committed to making a weekly @xmrMoneroCat episode, so I'm currently building my own custom script-to-storyboard-to-video pipeline using Astra, Fable, ElevenLabs, and Seedance.
Anyone with a bit of engineering experience can cobble together their own version of this that fits their exact work preference. There's not much point charging money for workflow apps. Or any apps, for that matter.
Unless your software is already heavily entrenched, new software should just be free.
