Israel has blocked 37 humanitarian organisations from the Gaza Strip & West Bank.
This is another genocidal act from Israel, making Gaza even less liveable for Palestinians: 1/3 of hospitals will close & food distribution will halt.
We join 53 NGOs calling on the UK to act⬇️
Oxfam’s Policy Lead in Palestine, Bushra, tells @AJEnglish that plans to deregister NGOs in Gaza would further harm Palestinians amid an already acute humanitarian crisis.

Following a year where the official development assistance budget was cut once again, there are so many questions the UK government still need to answer to get their vision for international development and humanitarian assistance back on track.

Day 3 of #COP30 🌎
Tensions rise over the “UAE Dialogue,” created to discuss how to implement the outcomes of the first Global Stocktake, the Paris Agreement’s five-year review of collective progress on climate action.
Developing countries want the Dialogue to remain a space to exchange on finance, technology and support, while developed countries want it to act as a follow-up review mechanism. A move that could undermine the Paris Agreement’s bottom-up approach.

At the same time as climate negotiators stress the lack of finance in Belem at COP30, the #UNTaxConvention negotiations have an opportunity to deliver billions by taxing the world’s worst polluters.

“Why do we keep giving away our taxing rights? I will answer it very simply. It is about bargaining power. We are at the table looking for foreign direct investments, so that we can exploit our own resources. And so, of course, we are using tax policy as a way to attract investment. And it is not just that we offer this. It is also demanded of us by the investor.”

Dear President @CyrilRamaphosa,
Here is a letter to you — from voices across the Global South. With the G20 Finance Ministers meeting in Durban for the final time before the Leaders’ Summit, this is the moment for decisive action that history will remember.
As G20 Chair, you have the power to lead a bold response. #G20SouthAfrica must lead the way in creating an economy for the many, not the few. Tax the super-rich. Cancel the debt. Rewrite the global rules for people and the planet — not profit. The time for change is NOW.
