The Scottish Parliament Standards Committee published their 1st stage report on the Right to Recall for MSPs Bill today. My colleagues Catriona Mullay, Andrew @PeatWorrier and I from @GCULaw gave evidence and are quoted in the report. Link here #RightToRecall
‘Fundamental issues’ must be addressed in a Bill which would introduce a process where MSPs could be recalled - potentially losing their seat.
The Standards Committee says the Bill needs further thought for it to work within the electoral system used at @Scotparl.

Tomorrow we're scrutinising a Bill which changes the process for withdrawing pupils from religious instruction or religious observance at school.
It also changes how the compatibility duty on public authorities in the UNCRC Act operates if there are conflicting statutory duties.
