Parents: Gracious parenting isn’t looking the other way at sin & rebellion. That’s unloving. Gracious parenting sees sin, deals with it, points to Christ, showing love & affection anyway. Ours is a pale reflection of the fact that in Christ we are both fully known & fully loved.

Parents: Few things are as important as modeling for your children a worshiper who enjoys God in everything and enjoys everything in God. All is Christ.

Parents: Worship is more than congregational but it is never less. Your children seeing you committed to corporate church worship is a blessing for which there is no acceptable substitute.

When Scripture teaches that submission to the lordship of Jesus is an evidence of salvation, it does not infer that salvation or perseverance are the results of works. Submission to Christ neither saves us or keeps us saved, but is the result of God’s work of salvation in us.

The gospel enables you and your kids to face the worst in yourselves -- your sin, your weakness, your compulsive self-centeredness -- and yet still find hope, because the gospel of grace is powerful.

The truth that all believers will grow in sanctification is not founded upon their strength of will or degree of dedication. It is not something that they add to their faith in order to be saved, but rather the result of God’s faithfulness to finish the work He began—Phil. 1:6.

The strongest believer struggles with sin and failure, creating doubt & discouragement. We need assurance that we will reach the finish line. It is not the “little train that could” mentality that will bring us to victory, but the blood of Christ and the faithfulness of God.

3 ways you can reach your student spiritually:
1. Pray w/ your student regularly (aside from the dinner table prayer)
2. Eat w/ your student & discuss life from a Biblical perspective
3. Apologize for your mistakes & forgive their mistakes. Keep lines of communication open.

Let God’s Promises Pour Over You
Every Christian should preach truth to her own soul. Nothing squelches fear and anxiety like God’s very own promises.
