It seems clear that in the final moments of the terrorist attack in Krakow, a single policeman with a handgun fought a close quarters gunfight with the murderer dressed in full military gear with a rifle.
The police officer took him down, but was himself gravely injured.
Once they both fell to the ground, civilians rushed to the scene to try to save both their lives before the ambulances arrived.
Absolutely out of this world. Such courage.

EU elections, a thesis: The far-right mostly surged in countries where the far-right has never ruled. In countries that have already been damaged by populism - Poland, Hungary, Greece - the center right did better. (UK fits this story too, except center-left benefits).
