Wait until I tell Dan that in Canada we make it even EASIER to understand by writing per cent (i.e. per 100) rather than mashing it together as percent (per100).
Allow me to offer grains of salt. Trump only started talking about a "pretty close" deal Oct. 25 in Michigan; just 5 days after GOP Senate nominee Mike Rogers said: "We got to end the Canadian tariff war...It is not helpful to our automobile industry." Do you believe it's close?
Trump boasting about being close to a trade deal with Canada says two things, @Lanampayne tells @CTVNews. “One, he actually needs a trade deal with Canada, and two, if he doesn't get one, he gets to blame us that he doesn't have such a deal.”
But it's FREE!!!!*
You get what you pay for.

About that planned Audi plant in Georgia ...
I've been saying for two years: It's easy to make an announcement, difficult and costly to follow through and build a plant.
Announcement appease Trump at no cost. Physical factories are expensive.

You cannot allow the leadoff man to reach.
You must always throw a first-pitch strike.
I know, easier said than done.
For everyone who gripes about government money being spent on auto investment: Audi is likely to get $1.4 billion USD from the State of Georgia for the automaker's planned $4 billion USD plant. That's 35% of the cost — about the going rate to land a new (or retooled) factory.
I can confirm: No Canadian auto plant has closed due to tariffs. CAMI is idle at the moment, with GM pledging to not sell or — wait for it — CLOSE IT during the term of the most recent contract with Unifor. Yes, Stellantis Brampton Assembly is idled — since 2023 — BEFORE tariffs.
I can’t believe this needs saying but let me say it: when Trump claims Canada will “give us anything at this moment”
1) he’s not serious
2) he can’t be trusted
3) no deal is better because of 1 and 2

ABC is airing Ghostbusters right now — my all-time favourite movie, which I know by heart — and I am SCREAMING at the TV every time there's a edit to save time.
The @GordieHoweBrg is the single worst-run entity I have EVER dealt with. Started with double charging me — and others — for crossings. ZERO explanation (that I can find) on how to "activate" me Breakaway tags. Credit card readers NEVER work. Support centre CLOSED. Just awful.
And then come back and win and take a 2-0 lead. What more could you ask for?

Man, @StubHub is on par with @Ticketmaster when it comes to bad PR, terrible service, shady business, etc.
The sickening stories keeping coming in…😢😢😢
SHAME ON YOU, @StubHub.
Imagine being a kid, a HUGE @Brewers fan, and finding out you’re going to see your team play in the WORLD SERIES! ⚾️💙💛
The excitement. The anticipation. The memories you’re already imagining making.
Now imagine having that excitement ripped away because a company sold your 3 tickets that you bought, that they apparently can’t deliver.
That’s exactly what we’re dealing with right now.
We purchased THREE tickets to the Milwaukee Brewers World Series for Game 1 last Tuesday(13th) through StubHub. We selected our section, our row, paid for our tickets, and received our order confirmation.
Everything was supposed to be set.
Then suddenly, StubHub tells us they’re “searching for replacement options” because they can’t provide the tickets we purchased.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
How does a company accept someone’s hard earned money, confirm a purchase, and then turn around and say they can’t fulfill it?!
And their solution? We can request a refund while they continue looking for tickets.
THIS ISN’T ABOUT THE MONEY.
It’s about the experience. It’s about the memories. It’s about the excitement of a kid, his dad, and grandpa, who thought they were going to watch their favorite baseball team play on the biggest stage in baseball.
Look at the first picture. That’s the disappointment you’re creating, StubHub.
A refund doesn’t replace that moment.
And here’s what really bothers me…
StubHub advertises a “FanProtect Guarantee” and tells customers their orders are “100% guaranteed.”
Guaranteed WHAT, exactly?!
Because from where we’re sitting, that guarantee doesn’t feel worth much when you can’t deliver the tickets you sold us.
We did everything right. We purchased through a major ticket marketplace. We trusted the confirmation. We trusted the guarantee.
Now it’s time for StubHub to make it right.
We aren’t asking for anything extra. We want the three tickets we paid for, or comparable or better seats together, at no additional cost.
Stubhub…DO BETTER.
Please SHARE this. Not just for us, but for every fan who has trusted a ticket company with an experience that means so much more than the price of admission.

Think Chinese automakers are coming to Canada just to sell cheap EVs? Think again.
Geely, Chery and BYD could be coming for a much bigger piece of pie.
Canadian dealers might not like what could be next.

Absolute legends, icons and idols. And I agree with every word. I'm 50 and still don't think my opinion matters.
“I didn’t think anybody should have a column before 35 years old.”
@RealMikeWilbon and Dan Le Batard on the difference between reporters and columnists, and how they both believe they got columns too early in their careers.
Wait!
$2.5 billion over two years for large-scale automotive capital projects?
All while Unifor and Stellantis remain deadlocked over an empty Brampton Assembly Plant?
The government just dangled a carrot that would make Bugs Bunny blush.

Random thought out of watching this. It was only 13 years ago and Joe Buck is heard saying about a pitcher: "The rookie can bring it, mid-90s." Jacob Misiorowski — and others — are out there today throwing 100+ mph on every fastball.
To any of my followers who were in Detroit at the @Automotive_News Congress and recall me saying “that’s like Trump being popular in California.” - this Carney in Alberta. This is what I meant.
We don’t know the results of the vote but it’s clear that Unifor members are engaged when it comes to contract talks with Stellantis.
What a turnout. What a show of solidarity. 💪
Thank you, Local 444, for showing up and standing together.
