@TransLink hi there, this is the down staircase from Ne West station eastbound and… it’s really gross as you can see. Possible to get it cleaned? That’s a lot of pigeon poop …

@TransLink we cannot hear announcements on train 456. The volume is far too low and the train noise overpowers it. Is something wrong with the tracks today?

It’s louder but unintelligible! What is wrong? This is a new train

thank you! I have to ask, why is the entrance to Expo Boulevard going to be closed on match days? What about accessing the Costco, and other shops by that entrance?

Do you remember in The Lion King when scar told the hyenas if they helped him become king he will make their lives better and then their lives didn’t get better and he blamed them for it. And upon realizing this, the hyenas ate him. Do with that story what you will.

Stay away from rivers, shorelines, and trails near the North Shore Mountains. Conditions are dangerous: fast-moving water, flooding, and unstable banks pose life-threatening hazards. Stay safe and avoid these areas. metrovancouver.org/services/…

#MELISSA is worse than “worse case scenario”. This is generational. The human suffering in parts of #Jamaica will be unimaginable to modern standards. I could not fathom a monster like this. I’ve studied so many hurricanes, and I can’t even believe what I’m looking at.

@TransLink hi, bline B22002 has a loose metal fitting that is making a horrendous noise. It’s the right side of the first exit door where the yellow plexi frame attaches. You can see the wear point. So loud!

A number of people have been killed and multiple others are injured after a driver drove into a crowd at a street festival at E. 41st Avenue and Fraser shortly after 8 p.m. tonight. The driver is in custody. We will provide more information as the investigation unfolds.

Thank you for sharing. I am very familiar with the mechanisms you have outlined. This post was written deliberately for parents who need clear, accessible information - not a deep academic breakdown. In clinical practice, we address the full complexity of mitochondrial dysfunction as part of a broader, multidisciplinary approach.

Going to chime in here, but the Mitochondria don't "shift into survival" - they straight up 'kick it'. Especially in #LongCovid, causing things like: fatigue, brain fog, and inflammation. Stating adoption of some 'transitional state' such as a "Shift" is not correct. -In acute COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 directly 'impairs' mitochondria by disrupting ATP production, increasing reactive oxygen species (ROS), and damaging mitochondrial structure (e.g., swollen cristae). -In Long COVID, persistent mitochondrial 'dysfunction' evidenced by suppressed oxidative phosphorylation, reduced fatty acid oxidation, and elevated lactate - contributes to symptoms, alongside inflammation, neuroinflammation, and endothelial dysfunction. Now apply that to kids as they grow and get repeatedly exposed. Their mitochondria don't go to sleep, they are damaged. -Studies (e.g., muscle biopsies, CPET) show clear mitochondrial failure, not a "survival mode." -Your post oversimplifies a multifactorial condition, ignores viral and immune-mediated damage, and lacks evidence for its treatment implications. Long COVID symptoms arise from complex mechanisms, requiring multidisciplinary care, not just nutritional fixes. References: DOI:10.3390/ijms24032050, DOI:10.1038/s41598-024-66873-3.
