I’ve said for a long time there is a big difference between running a Marathon and racing a Marathon.
Both are fantastic
But they are different
I like a 8 week “Marathon prep” before starting the training block.
Run 30 to 40 easy stress free MPW while gradually increasing the long run to ~70% of your longest marathon training run. Key on stress free miles.
Inconvenient Marathon Reality:
Marathon training requires a certain level of readiness. I like to see 30+ mpw and a 12+ mile long run (*comfortably*) about 16 weeks out from the race.
Without this foundation, injury risk is significant, the result will be subpar, and your experience will probably not be much fun.
Don’t be so sure.

Did you think it was too cold or wet to run today? It was 38º when I ran today.
In the 2018 @bostonmarathon there was rain and hail throughout the day, heavy at times, 41º and gusty winds.

I’m here in Ohio and if yard signs are any indication there are 10 #Harris signs for each #trump sign.
But then I’m sure @realDonaldTrump people are embarrassed to admit that they support a man who lead an insurrection and so is a traitor to the United States.
I look at the times for celebrities who run the #NewYorkMarathon and find joy in the fact that I’ve run (much) faster than they have.
