ELON MUSK, IT’S TIME TO ANSWER TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. It’s time to investigate DOGE, access to sensitive government data, and the billions awarded in federal contracts. If there’s nothing to hide, testifying under oath shouldn’t be a problem.

Symone is the only one on MSNOW that's giving Kamala any love. Except maybe Rachel and Peter Alexander.

There is one group of Americans who have every right to have lost faith in the American Experiment and the possibility of change through democracy. African Americans have been murdered, tortured, denied equal rights and protection simply for being Americans who wanted to be treated equally and vote. When they lost elections, they didn't storm the Capitol in a violent attempt to throw out results. They organized, registered more voters and kept faith with the promise of America. Yesterday, that faith once again made history.

In 2018, Brian Kemp ran for governor of Georgia. He was also the man running the election. As Secretary of State, his office had canceled nearly 670,000 voter registrations in 2017 alone. Then, weeks before Election Day, it froze 53,000 more under a rule called "exact match." A missing hyphen. A dropped initial. That was enough. Nearly 70% of those frozen applications belonged to Black Georgians, in a state that's about 32% Black. Stacey Abrams lost by about 55,000 votes. She didn't wait for the next race. She built Fair Fight and went to work in every one of Georgia's 159 counties. She recruited poll watchers, ran registration drives, and took the system to court. Georgia organizers registered more than 800,000 new voters. Two years later, Georgia went blue for president for the first time since 1992. Two months after that, it sent two Democrats to the U.S. Senate and handed them control of the chamber. Last night Jon Ossoff won re-election. Keisha Lance Bottoms became the first Democrat elected governor of Georgia since 1998. Tanya Miller became the state's first woman attorney general.

.@KamalaHarris: “Now it is about governance. We have to be clear that when we take back the gavel, when we take back the power, and thank God it was both the House and the Senate, we have to be prepared to lead. And we must lead with a certain level of ruthlessness. And by that, I do not mean cruelty, but we must be uncompromising in our commitment to actually deliver on the actual needs of the American people.”

Amy Acton letting Vivek Ramaswamy go to voicemail is a lesson for women. You don’t owe people who mistreat you reconciliations, forgiveness or platitudes. You certainly don’t owe people who enable your abuser anything. You owe yourself peace. 🥺

The only Ukrainian member of the US Congress, Victoria Spartz, has lost her seat. Spartz is a right-winger who voted against $60bn in aid for Ukraine in 2024, three days after a Russian strike on her native Chernihiv killed 18 civilians. 13 Nov: eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-us-mi…

If I were the archivist of the United States I’d send a lil memo to the entire executive branch tomorrow am reminding them that preserving records is the law. And if I were Congress I’d amend the Federal Records Act to make it easier to sue when officials break the law.

🎯 Jeffries' framing ('getting even") is prejudicial. It's not about 'getting even,' it's about upholding the laws, restoring trust in the legal system and, absolutely, deterrence. Let this Congress investigate, establishing a factual basis for referrals for prosecution later.
Reestablishing deterrence. That is the MOST IMPORTANT task that lies before us. There must be a cost, a penalty, and lasting accountability beyond simply losing an election after breaching the public trust so radically. If we fail on this, we may never have another chance.

Provided there isn't a massive change, it looks like Colom will win this race. Which is absolutely insane. And you can thank @KamalaHarris for paying attention to it and investing in @scott_colom!!! 🔥
The Mississippi ballot count has been a total mess due to the lack of a centralized system, but Colom is up 1,138 votes in the AP count and 1,883 on DDHQ. The race call will take days, but there's little reason to believe Colom won't be the next senator from Mississippi.

This is a powerful reminder of pride for Afghan women and girls. Mubarak, @aishabbwahab This achievement is not easy. It reflects your hard work, dedication, courage and the trust you have earned from people in a diverse state where people from different backgrounds and communities live together. Every vote represents the people’s trust in your work, your service and their expectations of you. This is no ordinary achievement; it is a historic moment and a great honour. Congratulations once again 🇦🇫🇺🇸

Seeing Jeffries and Schumer take victory laps is exasperating. They are part of the old school, big donor wing of the party, trying to take credit for a grass roots movement they had NOTHING to do with.
