I don't like to comment on these matters, but I see a lot of empathy being directed in the wrong direction.
The only people you should empathize with and feel sorry for are the competitors who were directly affected by his actions, who had match wins, tournament results, prizes, and accomplishments stolen from them.
CTCG will bounce back. But what he did to his opponents is irreparable.

2nd in today's Challenge and 1st in Yesterday with Goryo's featuring Seasoned Cryomancer! Is it just glorified Champion of Wits? You be the judge =)
Most likely taking this to RC LA and will have a guide up this weekend on my @TryMetafy

5-0 with UW 8-Chant (7-Chant)
This deck is fun, at least even with Broodscale, and has multiple unloseable matchups (Druid, Neoform, Storm).
Thanks to Ben Ejnes for the original list, @G_Relentless_ for some inspo, and @zcastiix for chatting with me on MTGO.

Imma let you finish, but Gerrick Alford had one of the best 9-0 runs of all-time.
OF ALL-TIME.
Two players end Day 1 with perfect 9-0 records at the Magic Regional Championship! 馃敟
Curtis Lam (Devoted Druid Combo) and Ralph Zhou (Mono-Green Broodscale) sit atop the field heading into Day 2 at #SCGBALTIMORE.
Join us tomorrow at 9am ET when coverage continues! 馃憖

If the world had 8 billion Gerrick fans, I'd be one of them. If the world had 100 million Gerrick fans. I will also be one of them. If the world has 100 million Gerrick fans, l'd still be one of them. If the world has a hundred Gerrick fans, I'd still be one of them. If there's only one Gerrick fan in the world, it's probably me. If there isn't a single Gerrick fan in the world, I wouldn't be in this world by now.
