I’m so pleased with the robust leadership race that we’re already seeing with such highly qualified candidates: a medical doctor, two lawyers-turned successful politicians, a whip-smart PhD scientist and former financial services executive, and a mayor of a major Canadian city that has won three straight elections by wide margins.
Five candidates. Three people of colour. One Millennial and one woman. The number — and quality — of candidates the party has attracted is remarkable, reflects modern Ontario, and stands in stark contrast to the Ontario NDP’s leadership coronation.
