September 11, 2001, changed our lives forever. We remember those we tragically lost and honor the first responders who faced unimaginable danger with extraordinary courage. Their sacrifice continues to inspire, and their memory will never fade.

Ahead of the Jewish New Year, we paid tribute at the Grande Synagogue of Paris to the 76,000 Jews deported from France during the Nazi occupation. Honoring their memory and reaffirming our commitment to remembrance and vigilance.

My meeting with @SebLecornu touched on many common issues, particularly U.S.-France business and economic development. As just one example, we discussed innovative work by pharmaceutical companies – in both of our countries – to improve patient care, support key research, and create jobs.

After screening one of their upcoming films, @canalplus CEO @maxsaada and I reconvened to talk media, film, and ways to strengthen our commercial and cultural partnerships.

France has the world’s largest startup campus @StationF where global innovators, including from France and the U.S., are pushing boundaries. Innovation has limitless potential.

It was a pleasure to discuss many important issues with @knafo_sarah, from support for the French Jewish community to economic challenges and opportunities for France and the EU.

Thank you, @EmmanuelMacron, for having established July 12 as a day to remember Dreyfus and the injustices he faced. Let’s work together to build a future where antisemitism has no place.

This year, as we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, we honored Bernard Arnault and his many contributions to our alliance. I cannot think of a better person to represent the best of both France and America. He is the definition of the Franco-American relationship.
