The aim of #safergambling #SGweek23 messaging is to instill a sense of blame onto the individual (through constant use of 'YOU'). Then make it appear that the rest of the ordinary public are gambling responsibly. Deflection #Sgweek23

The belief that self-regulating gambling firms want to make gambling less harmful is a myth.  Such compliance seriously risks impacting profitability.  Easier to be fined for regulatory breaches every so often. #safergambling #sgweek23

Safer #gambling objectives can't be achieved by global profit driven corporations with shareholder accountability. Lobbying and PR to deflect attention from some of their schemes to extract maximum possible losses from the most vulnerable. Profits come from harm. #sgweek23

#Safergambling - various pledges that look to put the onus fully on the individual. The lack of adherence to responsible gambling codes of practice that aren't complied with are conveniently not mentioned in any of this industry campaigning. #sgweek23

#SGweek23 is a marketing stunt. Continued use of the word YOU to place the individual at blame. "spread the word to help everyone gamble" Desperate stuff this.
We can do this two-gether! 🙏 There's just two days until #SGWeek23 and we need YOU to spread the word to help everyone gamble safer. 👏 Find out more 👉 bit.ly/3FmA3oE

The #safergambling week message encourages those who may be suffering from addiction to accept full responsibility. The normalisation of gambling continues by self regulating industry that doesnt care for the harm it causes, nor takes accountability. Addicted to harm. #SGweek23

The #sgweek22 campaign is used alongside codes of conduct, pledges, commitments and PR to delay regulatory interventions and deflect from regulatory failings around protecting customers from harm. #SGweek22
