Stephanie Otey hit the nail on the head 🔨 Justin Fields scored a perfect 130 AIQ score, “the highest in football history.” Yet the narrative is that He is A bust because he “Takes too long to process NFL defenses”. But what is that AIQ test about ? Andy Reid has a system that can maximize his NFL veteran status and some of his already proven NFL skills which will ultimately make him A better QB. Recently NFL fans and X media pages that just simply don’t like Justin Fields are using his name for engagement based off of him “minor mistakes” overshadowing & deceiving his success he’s shown that hasn’t got reported on as much as the negatives because it doesn’t give them enough “Engagement” It all started in preseason when he threw an “Int” in camp that went viral that caused a lot of inaccurate reports of him having A bad camp along with him hitting the center in the helmet with the football which got a lot of X sports media outlets and media personalities a lot of attention to post those clips but never posted the clips of him having great success in chiefs camp nor reporting how impressed the coaches were with the veteran Justin Fields during camp. All of that followed Justin Fields into the preseason during the 2nd game against the buccaneers after Fields converted A 3rd and long 15 yard scramble into A 1st down moving the offense into the redzone he ended the redzone drive taking A sack on 3rd down ending the series with A 3 point field goal Justin Fields came out 9/12 passing 75% completion percentage 64 yards passing and 15 yards rushing. The sack on 3rd down caused a lot of fan controversy about A potential “open window pass”. Despite They assume he probably could have made the throw which went viral on X which had X media sports outlets, X media personalities not only from not only Chiefs fans but even Chicago Bears fans & Jets Fans saying “Fields has had A horrible preseason, Fields won’t make the roster, Fields has never progressed as A QB season to season ever in his career, Fields still can’t process. All this stemmed from some Chiefs fans during camp stating Nussmeier is taking over the QB2 job starting come preseason (well that never happened.) Those minor mistakes won’t cause any moment for the QB2 depth chart for the 2026 season. As the seasoned veteran Justin Fields has faced regular-season NFL defenses for years, giving the coaching staff much more security than an unproven rookie. Andy Reid has had Justin take the starting reps as QB during the preseason. The talk of rookie Garrett Nussmeier taking the backup job is mostly “fan hype” rather than an official “depth chart change” according to Sports Illustrated, Fields is A firm lock 🔒 for the QB2 position for the 2026 season. Nussmeier had A good camp moving the ball down the field any time he got in the only thing is that he has had rookie mistakes which is normal but does not completely have the chiefs coaching staff comfortable enough where Andy Reid would want him to be the certified QB2 behind Mahomes and his offense in 2026.
