Shocked and bloody angry I think... it takes more than that to shake me. I may be a woman, but I'm not the snowflake here.
Exclusive: Nigel Farage's "physical altercation" during the State Opening of Parliament was with the Lib Dem MP Caroline Voaden - and has caused an major row between Reform and the Lib Dems. Lib Dem sources say Voaden was left "shocked and shaken" after he "shoved" her to secure a place in the procession of MPs to the King's Speech. Video from the Commons Chamber that day shows Farage and Voaden making their way down from their benches together. Voaden reported the incident to the Serjeant at Arms and says Farage was asked to apologise - but hasn't. A Reform spokesman denies any wrongdoing by Farage, saying "it was the Lib Dem MPs being aggressive towards Nigel". Lib Dems say that is "utter nonsense" Farage said yesterday that the "physical altercation" was the reason he didn't put up a fight to be in the Chamber for the Budget after his prayer card to save a space was removed. He said he thought that after the row with Voaden, it was "better to avoid conflict". But in a further twist, a Commons spokesman says Farage's card was only removed because it didn't have a date stamp, which are required to reserve a spot. Getting tired of maxx-maxxing - the appending of "-maxxing" onto relatively normal things.

Seriously? No idea? He had no idea that joining a party led by Nigel Farage would mean engaging in racial politics?
I feel for Danny Kruger. He's a decent guy and when he defected to Reform he had no idea it would end up engaging in this type of racial politics - or that that he'd end up in interviews like this. But Tim's right: in a party full of moments, this is a moment.

Striking but not surprising - FREE SPEECH (as long as we agree with what you say) is par for the MAGA/Alt-right course.
Striking how fast Reform went from free-press defenders to calling for the arrest of journalists who investigate it. Its move to the populist-authoritarian model is unlikely to do much for its poll rating.

What exactly are you proposing to do to this country that you believe will inevitably lead to riots in its streets?
A Restore Britain Government will do what needs to be done - civil unrest and rioting will inevitably follow. We must be ready for that, and the public must be prepared too. What needs to happen will be incredibly painful. But it is all absolutely necessary to save our home.

Funny that we're the fastest growing economy in the G7 (or the 'least slow growing' depending on your disposition) yet "going it alone on Net Zero is bankrupting us". 🤷‍♂️

John Shipley spent 34 years on Newcastle City Council and 16 in the Lords. Today, he ended it where he started, opening a debate on local democracy and electoral reform. Thank you, John, and happy retirement.

The Lib Dem conference sets policy, but only certain people can vote: MPs, PPCs and appointed delegates of local parties - you can’t just arrange a bunch of mates to turn up and force through a motion.
Fun fact: policy motions passed by Green conference become party policy immediately, with no need for approval from leader. They also cannot be reversed for at least 2 years, and after that they remain policy unless a specific motion is passed to repeal and replace the old one.
