Excuses that are all fine things in life. Good to have. A new field, oxen to work, a wedding... Normal life! The failure is putting these things ahead of God. Before we realize it, "not now" turns into never. The comfort and abundance of normal life is the thing most likely to keep us from God. Luke 14:16-20, 23-24

Roots that hold take time. We may need several reps before we stick to walking with God. The lie is we have time and a little reading means we know Him. The guys locked out heard Him teach. Luke 13:23-26

We have studied His Word. We know what He wants. & we have abundance on top. Disobey now, with full knowledge and full hands… The sentence will match. Luke 12:47-48

Jesus did not come to get all to agree. He is the line, not kumbaya. When culture and Scripture collide, He does not adjust for inclusion. Some will choose to be led by social issues and call it Christian. Luke 12:50-51

Get right with Jesus before you go to see God. Do not end up in front of Him, the Judge, without Christ. Luke 12:57-59

Worry is a lack of faith. It adds nothing to our life. Seek God. Build confidence in Him. The only thing to fear is not seeking Him. End up worry free and in the Kingdom He is happy to give us. Luke 12:25-26, 31-32

The Pharisees focused on how humans viewed them. If we care what God thinks, we solve for the heart. Get that right and the outward appearance will be solved. We will not have to think about it. Luke 11:39-41

Two type of people here…. One hears the Word and does it. No holding back. Faith is following and knowing He's got it. The other thinks they've got it figured out. Too smart for God. Heart closed. Signs won’t change a thing. Luke 11:28-29

God is full of grace. He wants to give. It is on us to keep knocking. To keep seeking Him in prayer. Luke 11:5-9

Prophets and kings begged for what we have. The greatest book of wisdom and discernment ever written. His words.
And it sits on the shelf for many. Gratitude is shown by action. Putting the family I lead first means time in His teachings. Luke 10:23-24

When it's clear we are meant to follow Jesus, do so right then. Nothing else first. (v59-61) Believers who put God on pause: Get back on the plow. We chose this. We want this. Do not allow the flesh to drag us from His work. (v62) Luke 9:59-62

It says “give up your own way." Daily. So what's the thing we keep not doing? Do it today. Do not hang onto what we love by putting it ahead of God. Keep our life by obeying God first. No one should be surprised to hear we follow Jesus. Share His message. Luke 9:23-26.

How often do we check out and think someone else will handle it because we feel it’s impossible? Direction from God: Bring what we have, even when it's obviously not enough. Count on Him to do the rest. Luke 9:13-14

This is the locked in mindset of walking with God. His Word and direction filter ALL of our choices and focus. And it’s fantastic. Psalms 119:97-98, 104-105

We can hear the message from God. We can believe & be with it. But we will be tempted. Life's comforts and obligations will challenge our focus on God. Unless we patiently grow in His wisdom by reading, praying, and serving, we will lose our way. Luke 8:13-14

Asked who He was, Jesus pointed at what His life produced. “Blind see, lame walk, dead raised.” As Luke 6 showed, we are known by what our life produces. Jesus passed the test. People talked reckless anyway. "John’s a demon." “Jesus is a drunk." Wisdom does not argue with foolish claims. It is proven by the lives of the people who follow it. Luke 7:22,33-35

We are known by what our life produces. A good man of God is obedient to Him. We pray to Him. We call for His help and wisdom. He gives it to us, we know it, and we skip it. Our foundation is trash if we do not follow His guidance. No action and the first distraction will knock us from God’s path. Luke 6:43-46 (+47-49)

Imagine worshipping the rules so much you would stop a man from helping people. What are we doing here? God calls us to love and serve. No rule overrides that. Luke 6:9-11

Jesus came for those who know they are a mess. “Too far gone” is exactly who He is ready for. Those who think they are living right without God will miss Him. Come as we are. Then change things. No need to clean up first. Remember this when we come across someone on the brink: they may be just about to find Jesus. Luke 5:30-32

Peter was the pro. He already fished all night. Caught nothing. Jesus said try again. Peter obeyed and had a catch so big he couldn't even handle it. Thinking we have it all sorted and solved (we don’t) must never stop us from obeying God. Luke 5:5-6
