There’s something timeless about watching New Order – Sunrise, Live at The Haçienda, BBC Whistle Test, 3rd December 1985.
The Haçienda was still finding its identity, but New Order were already shaping the future.

My neighbor in his eighties very slowly hobbles out to the garage and rips country riffs on guitar for a couple hours every few days.
Goals.
Hope your day was good.

Folks, it gives me great pleasure to finally share my new movie, Ernie & Emma. This flick represents a return to truly independent filmmaking, and I hope you enjoy the results.
I’ll be live in these cities to introduce the movie and discuss it afterwards. See you there!

Highly recommend Jimmy’s Substack. His story of one of Ireland’s best bands of the 90s, Into Paradise.
Reads like a cautionary tale but Jimmy got to do something most of us can only dream of. An honest account of the highs and lows of being in a band…

No matter what is happening, if you want to make movies, just try and make them, whatever way you can with the resources and abilities you have RIGHT NOW. Not some future moment that may not occur. Make the movie you can right now. If it's messy, so be it.
Just make the thing

💯 the great records and films take their time and have a long shelf life. The sum of their parts are greater than the whole. Artists, keep serving the art and not the algorithms. ❤️🎬🎵
‘If the listener doesn't get a hook in the first 10 seconds, the algorithm flags the song as "low engagement" and buries the entire project. We aren’t writing full songs anymore; we’re writing for the 31st second….’

Charles Grodin (born on this day) absolutely wrecked De Niro in Midnight Run. At one point, he needles him so relentlessly that De Niro cracks, breaks for a split-second, looks right at camera, and mutters: “pain in the ass this guy is.”
Grodin waits a beat… then hits him again.

Fellow BUSTER KEATON fans will enjoy Jim Jarmusch telling the story of how if it hadn’t been for JAMES MASON buying Keaton’s old house in Los Angeles in the 1980’s almost every film Buster made would’ve been lost to us forever.
Incredible stuff. teapawt.net/drsditt/status/2043766…
