We had a great Halloween parent/carer arts & craft session on Friday- 101 parents/carers attended which was an amazing turnout & also quite an ironic number given that Miss Makinson was dressed as Cruella De Vil. @FCATrust
Our Y5/6 boys football team played St Teresa’s on Thursday in their first Cup match. Despite their loss, the boys showed great grit and determination. They are looking forward to their next match in the Plate. Well done boys! ⚽️ @FCATrust
Well done to 3 of our Year 4 pupils who earned their pen licences this week for their beautiful joined up handwriting! Well done ✍️ @FCATrust
🍁 Leaf Man is inspiring our little explorers!
Nursery went on a wonderful Autumn walk around the school grounds to hunt for colourful leaves, twigs and all sorts of seasonal treasures. They used their wonderful finds to create our very own leaf pictures! 🎨✨
Our Y5 and Y6 Pupil Council reps had a brilliant time at the School Council Symposium last week. They explored monarchy, democracy & local issues in their community. The children were perfect ambassadors for BGA & represented our school beautifully. Well done everybody! @FCATrust
Year 1 led our Harvest celebrations this year & sung beautifully in the assembly. They gathered a great selection of items which were donated by our BGA families. They then donated these to @salvationarmyuk & received a lovely thank you letter! @FCATrust
Nursery and RB had the best time on the farm! 🚜 Feeding the animals, enjoying a sunny picnic and exploring the pumpkin patch. 🎃 We are so proud of our amazing little adventurers! 🌟👏
In Science 1B have been learning about living things & identifying their own body parts. Some children drew & labelled their body & body parts, whilst some children worked as a group to label one of their friends.
One of our former pupils wrote to Year 6 to give them motivation and advice ready for their transition to high school. Once a part of the BGA family, always a part of the BGA family! @FCATrust
Some of our Year 3 & 4s enjoying their Tag Rugby afterschool club. Great teamwork, communication and problem solving from the children! 🏉
We had a fantastic time at the Stanley Park Centenary Celebration on Friday, meeting the dignitaries, walking in the parade and performing with other schools! @FCATrust
Musical Theatre Club have been acting out being Fagan and his boys in ‘Pick a Pocket or Two’ 🎶🎼🎵! They are doing a great job of exaggerating the movements as they take the scarves and learning the lyrics well!
Year 5 had an excellent time at @BoltonLMS completing an Egyptology workshop and exploring artefacts around the museum. @FCATrust
✂️ Sheep Shearing Day on the Farm! 🐑🌾
Our Nursery farmers had a baa-rilliant time making their own little sheep and using their cutting skills to give them a woolly haircut!
Fine motor skills, creativity and lots of smiles all around!
To explore where our food comes from, Nursery and RB rolled up their sleeves and became little bakers and farmers. They mixed, kneaded and baked their very own delicious loaves of bread. They churned fresh cream into homemade butter!
Hands-on learning in Nursery! 🐄
Our little farmers loved ‘milking’ their ‘cows’ today. Beyond all the fun, it was a great activity for developing fine motor strength and problem solving skills. Fantastic job, Farmers! 🐮👏🌟
Little millers at work! 🌾
Today Nursery and RB learned all about wheat, from how it grows on the farm to how it makes our food. They loved grinding their own wheat using a pestle and mortar.
4G have been enjoying building numbers within 1,000 this week using base ten. They discussed the value of each digit and the importance of '0' as a place value holder.
Y6 explored artefacts from the Mayan era & the Anglo Saxon era. This included looking at jade, obsidian & cocoa beans whilst exploring visual & audio sources. They made predictions about when the Mayan era was & discovered that both eras ran concurrently. @FCATrust
