Labour’s Treasury Minister admitted she doesn’t think employers are working people.
No wonder. The entire Cabinet has less private-sector experience combined than our Shadow Chancellor.
They’re no longer the Labour Party. They’re the Welfare Party.

It's not always haram. Liberals definition is very narrow. They don't consider Husband emergency need. Also in war its is allowed.

Emma Reynolds, a Labour Treasury Minister, has just said on Camilla Tominey’s show on GB News ‘I don’t think employers are working people, they are companies’
Is she for real?! How gobsmackingly lacking in any real world or business understanding.
My dad - like hundreds of thousands of small business owners - was an employer ….and very much a working person!
Emma Reynolds has just kicked every small business owner in the country and shown Labour’s true colours. This lot are not fit to be in government.

Funny now he resigned over this under Keir Starmer, but now thinks it’s fine. What a career politician, just serving himself.
My employer owns a small hospitality company consisting of a hotel, a B&B and a restaurant with guest accommodation employing 20-25 people. He works at least 50 hours a week normally much more.
And yet this idiot, Emma Reynolds, would say he’s not a working people. Ffs 🤬

Kemi Badenoch is absolutely right. Andy Burnham's Budget is more of the same from Labour: higher taxes, more borrowing, rising welfare spending and no credible plan to fund our defence. At a time of growing threats to our national security, Britain needs serious leadership and difficult decisions, not more delay.
Well worth reading @KemiBadenoch's article.

Labour would win a majority at the election, with fewer votes, because a great many would waste their vote on Reform who are now set to finish FIFTH. Back the Conservatives or get Labour again.
And this is before tactical voting AND from one of the most pro Reform pollsters.

Your bank will no more pay the bank levy than your TV set pays the licence free, your car the road duty or your house the council tax.
This tax will fall on all of us as borrowers or depositors. Banks can only COLLECT taxes, not PAY them. All taxes fall on humans.

Business groups are sharply criticising John Healey’s budget
“This budget lacks the bold moves that would have made it easier for firms to invest, hire and grow,” CBI boss Rain Newton-Smith says
“There is nothing concrete to provide breathing space for the vast majority of businesses who are already dealing with energy bills a third higher than their European counterparts.”
The budget had “nothing to ease sky-high energy bills and nothing to make hiring someone more affordable,” the Federation of Small Businesses says.
The British Chambers of Commerce says Healey’s package lacks “the big calls that would really shift the economic dial” and that “many firms will have been hoping for a greater impact.”
Make UK says the budget “failed to address any of the fundamental costs holding back investment and growth in manufacturing.”

Shock horror, Mr Farage lying again…
But here’s the other thing, in 2026 why is it still necessary for daily proceedings in the House of Commons to begin with prayers??

Big row potentially brewing on defence…
Tories alleging that Healey - the man of principle who quit over DIP - might actually be *cutting* defence spending
In the next two financial years, the budget for the MOD will be £1bn a year less than Rachel Reeves planned when the DIP was published in June.
The total departmental spending can be calculated from the Budget Red Book pages 145-147. When compared to the DIP settlement, the Tories claim it shows that Labour are cutting £1bn a year from the MOD budget for the next two years.
Why? It appears that they are forecast to spend less than expected on pensions. Rather than the MOD being allowed to reuse this Resource Department Expenditure Limit, the Treasury has kept it

This is going to hurt!
The problem with Labour’s borrow and spend addiction is high interest rates for everyone else.
(And yes, they are even higher now than that budget!)
