Disappointingly MPs have voted against reviving the #KeptAnimalsBill and the measures will have to be passed separately
📣🚨Help us to ensure animals are put back on the agenda. Ask your MP to #ActNowForAnimals👇

Today @rspca_official launched the 2023 Kindness Index. It shows that even though 69% of us say that we are animal lovers, there is still a behaviour gap between what we say and do when it comes to animals. Full results can be found here bitly.ws/IUry

.@JoshReevesDCMS booked an @premierinn accessible room with a hoist to join a work away day.
Was a hoist available when he arrived? No.
What was their solution? Sleep in his wheelchair.

Our research with @Motability shows 1 in 10 disabled people can never access taxis or Private Hire Vehicle (PHVs) when needed.
That's roughly 1.4 million people.
We think financial incentives & disability awareness training will help. What do you think?

It was great to be back in parliament yesterday to support the launch of @LeonardCheshire’s new report on taxi and private hire vehicle accessibility ‘Driving Change’. Thanks to @DrMarkCarew @JoshReevesDCMS and Vitus Kwok for their work on the report: shorturl.at/fklOV
Great to discuss with @RicHolden and Sir Jeremy Wright MP @LeonardCheshire’s report on the accessibility of taxis and Private Hire Vehicles for people with disabilities. The research details how hard it remains for disabled people to access taxis. #drivingchange
ALT Sir Jeremy Wright MP, Ruth Owen OBE and Richard Holden MP hold copies of Leonard Cheshire’s report on Driving Change: Improving the Accessibility of Taxis and Private Hire Vehicles for Disabled People. They are in the Churchill room of the House of Commons. They are in front of a Leonard Cheshire banner saying that “Together we can break down barriers.”

NEW: 🚨 A letter signed by over 100 organisations committed to ending poverty urged Rishi Sunak to honour the promise he made this spring to increase benefits in line with inflation, and to do so now rather than waiting until April.

The #MiniBudget just doesn't add up for #Disabled people.
Our research shows many will need to find £1005.70 for increased energy bills alone.
Yet @TheIFS says lowest-paid workers will gain just 63p a month from reversal of the national insurance rise...
