Hospital utilization per HHS - based on hospitals reporting - updated today.
Virginia inpatient beds: 13,103 in use of 17,447 total (75% utilization rate).
1547 of those in use for COVID cases (<9% of total)
2017 US hospital bed utilization rate = 65.9%
6210 hospitals in operation.

Dec 2021 hospital bed utilization rate = 77.3%

Can't be ignored that the utilization rate is in part higher due to fewer beds now.
What am I missing?
Isn't herd-immunity still the desired goal?
'Oh-mi-krahn' is proven to be:
A C-19 variant,
Presenting with less serious symptoms, and
Highly transmissible.
So, why don't we all get up-close-and-personal with a known positive case?
And hasten herd-immunity?
