Terrific thread about the first systematic assessment of severe food insecurity among infants & young children in India from @GeoInsightsLab team
T1: New study in @eClinicalMed!
➡️The first systematic assessment of severe food insecurity among infants and young children in India assesses the evolution of food insecurity from 1993–2021 for the 36 States and UTs of India. (see ALT)

ALT Summary distribution of State/Union Territory-level prevalence of Zero-Food, 1993–2021. Box-and-whisker plot shows the variability of a data set using lowest and highest values, and quartiles of the data. The upper and lower whiskers represent minimum and maximum values respectively. The upper outline of the box depicts the 75th and the lower outline the 25th percentile respectively. The line within the box (separating the darker and lighter tones of grey) shows median (i.e., 50th percentile)

Although child marriage was prohibited by law almost 94 years ago, India is yet to see a parliamentary constituency where it no longer exists.

Published a little story in @Ideas4India w/ @mudgil_shubham on the prevalence of child marriage in India. Also pushed for better solutions that enhance women's status + improve life outcomes. For this, we used data from the NFHS Policy Tracker for Parliamentary Constituencies.
India has made steady progress towards eliminating incidences of child marriage over the years. Despite this, data from #NFHS indicates that there is not a single parliamentary constituency (PC) in the country with no case of child marriage.
