@SheffieldUnited have just announced @asi1_official as their official Personal AI Partner for the 2026/27 season.
But look at what they're actually doing.
A personalised AI concierge for supporters. Competitions. Fan interaction. A real consumer use case, attached to a football club with an existing audience.
That's important.
One of the biggest questions I've had around ASI recently is distribution. The technology can be brilliant, but eventually you need to get it out of the AI/crypto bubble and into the hands of normal people.
Football gives you exactly that opportunity.
Most supporters using an AI concierge won't care about agents, decentralised infrastructure or what sits underneath it.
They'll care whether it's useful.
And that's precisely how adoption should work.
Get the product in front of people. Give them a reason to use it. Let the technology disappear into the experience.

Community update:
With the class action now formally filed, the window for a mediated resolution has significantly narrowed.
The Community Working Group has acted in good faith throughout - encouraging constructive dialogue and offering to facilitate a fair, balanced discussion. Unfortunately, that opportunity hasn’t yet been taken.
We’ll be stepping back for now but remain willing to re-engage if all sides return to the table in good faith to work toward a fair resolution for the community.

Just to set expectations clearly —
A working group of community members has now been established, and we’re in the process of drafting a proposal aimed at helping both sides reach a fair resolution.
To do this properly, a few key questions need to go through the correct legal channels.
Until we have:
1️⃣ Spoken with the legal representatives we’re working alongside, and
2️⃣ Submitted and received responses to formal questions from the Ocean team,
there won’t be any new updates to share.
Our first call with the legal team is scheduled for this weekend.

The ASI Alliance from Ocean’s Perspective

People are rightly angry and frustrated. No one is a winner in this current state of unease, lack of information and transparency, and mudslinging. Ocean doesn’t see the benefit of throwing around unfounded and false allegations or the attempts to sully the reputations of the projects and people – it just damages both the ASI and Ocean communities unnecessarily.
Ocean has chosen to remain silent until now, out of respect for the ongoing legal processes. But given so many flagrant violations of decency, Ocean would like to take an opportunity to rebut many publicly voiced false allegations, libels, and baseless claims being irresponsibly directed towards the Ocean Protocol project. The false and misleading statements serve only to further inflame our community, while inciting anger and causing even more harm to the ASI and Ocean communities than is necessary.
Rather than throw unsubstantiated jabs, I would like to provide a full context with supporting evidence and links, to address many of the questions around the ASI Alliance, Ocean’s participation, and the many incorrect allegations thrown out to muddy the waters and sow confusion among our community.
This blogpost will be followed up with a claim-by-claim rebuttal of all the allegations that have been directed towards Ocean since October 9, 2025 but for now, this blog gives the context and Ocean’s perspective.
I encourage you to read it all, as it reflects months of conversations that reveal the context and progression of events, so that you can best understand why Ocean took steps to chart a separate course from the ASI Alliance. We hope the ASI Alliance can continue its work and we wish them well. Meanwhile, Ocean will go its own way, as we have every right to do.
These are the core principles of decentralization – non-coercion, non-compulsion, individual agency, sovereign property ownership and the power of you, the individual, to own and control your life.
