Same playbook @AlboMP used on CGT: smear, distract, and punish anyone who questions the war on aspiration and productive investment. Maybe “Stalinist tactics” weren’t an overstatement Derek?
You will see in attached podcast I presciently said at 2 minute mark, on the CGT Albo deployed political tactics a Stalinist regime would be proud of. Now with Albo’s lying hypocrisy on Helen Haynes dirt sheet, my Stalin comment may be an understatement! youtu.be/JC9uMwAY3n8?is=vd0i…

Fully agree Michael, penalising productivity through higher CGT and trust taxes will only slow Australia’s growth. We need tax settings that reward innovation, not punish it. @Albomp it’s time for reform!
Australia is overreliant on income tax to fund (growing) Gov't operations. Increasing taxes further on productive businesses, founders, and employees is death for innovation, productivity, and growth. The current #CGT & #trusttax policy direction must change @GeoffWilsonWAM

Compulsory viewing for all Australians, particularly the millennials and Gen X. @AlboMP ’s CGT will destroy your ability to Get Ahead, these changes don’t help the young they punish them. Eight extra years to save a house deposit. Effective tax on real returns jumps from 17% to 50%. This locks a generation out of home ownership and productive investment. Why Labor’s base vote (young + working class people) is 20%, this short video explains it all. The policy of taxing their savings at > 50% is cruel and inhumane. The gaslighting of young people in 2026 Budget, it hurts them the most, is so appalling. 👇

As @JEChalmers calls Australia a ‘premier investment destination’ while businesses hold back investment and states raise concerns about Labor’s tax changes. @AlboMP and his team need to learn, you cannot tax your way to a stronger economy. Capital follows incentives. wilsonassetmanagement.com.au…

Is this true or false? “Hitting back at the Treasurer’s declaration Australia was a “leading international investment destination”, @GeoffWilsonWAM argued the @AlboMP government had “squandered” the country’s opportunities and could not “credibly claim to be building a stronger economy”. “The recent tax changes punish investment, undermine confidence and send a clear message to capital: ‘Take your money elsewhere’ ”” @australian #StoptheCGTtoGetAhead #JoinWARonCGT

Great to see One Nation joining the Coalition in opposing Labor’s destructive CGT and trust changes. The Coalition called this out months ago and pledged to reverse it. One Nation is now adding its voice on restoring the 50% CGT discount and scrapping the trust tax. These experiments punish productive investment and smash aspiration. The more voices against them, the better. #StoptheCGTtoGetAhead #JoinWARonCGT
Media Release: One Nation will reverse Dr Chalmers’ budget experiments One Nation will fix Dr Jim Chalmers’ destructive budget experiments by reversing his capital gains tax and trust changes. One Nation will also protect negative gearing for up to two investment properties and vows to fight any plan by the Treasurer to impose death taxes and taxes on the family home. One Nation leader Senator Pauline Hanson said Australians were paying for a Treasurer who had no idea what he was doing and the Albanese Labor government who just cannot stop spending and driving up inflation. “Dr Jim Chalmers is experimenting on the Australian economy, and everyday Australians are his guinea pigs.” Senator Pauline Hanson said. “He’s playing with your home, your rent, your business and your savings. When his experiments fail, Australians will pay dearly. “He has smashed business confidence, cut off business investment and helped send the property market into free fall. “Already, more than 1,100 households who bought through Labor’s expanded five per cent deposit scheme are now estimated to owe more than their homes are worth. “Labor encouraged them into the market, then pulled the rug out from under them. “They botched the ATO credit card ban and lied about their involvement. They were forced to back down on their widow tax. Now accountants warn Labor’s trust changes could cost Australians billions in unnecessary advice and restructuring. “Labor couldn’t run a corner shop. But they know how to send one broke. “One Nation will restore the 50 per cent capital gains tax discount and scrap Labor’s proposed 30 per cent minimum tax on trusts. “The status quo of allowing unlimited taxpayer concessions for property tycoons was not working for Australians. The Liberal plan to back the broken model protecting property moguls makes no sense. “One Nation would continue to allow Australians to negatively gear up to two investment properties. “Anthony Albanese has pulled the ladder up behind him on young people trying to break into the property market, protecting tax concessions for existing properties. This includes the Prime Minister’s own ocean view clifftop house in Copacabana, the hundreds of properties held by his own cabinet and the thousands of properties held by property tycoons. “The Labor government must answer whether members of cabinet who benefited from grandfathering negative gearing concessions recused themselves from voting on the measures given their conflict of interest. “Australians should be able to work hard, invest and get ahead. For many young Australians, an investment property was one way they could get a foot into the property market. “One Nation will end this disastrous experiment and reverse Chalmers’ destructive budget experiments. “And we will draw a line around the family home and stop any plans for Labor’s death taxes. “It’s not enough that you already work several days a week to pay for Labor’s uncontrolled spending. Because Labor cannot control their own spending, they will keep coming back to shake you down for more. “My warning is that your family home, your super, and what you leave your children will be in the firing line next. “Labor broke its promises on negative gearing and capital gains tax. Why would Australians trust anything they say? “One Nation will never impose a death tax. We will never impose a tax on the family home. “You should not have to spend your life paying for Labor’s spending addiction, then have them send your children the final bill.”

Who thinks @AlboMP has no idea? As @AlboMP & @JEChalmers are asking small businesses and families to restructure around a completely new trust tax regime. Yet the consultation process has left serious questions about whether Treasury understood the consequences of what it’s proposing. Our analysis at @WilsonAssetMgmt estimates businesses and families could face up to $13.3 billion in restructuring costs. That is an extraordinary cost for small businesses. They should be spending that capital on hiring, investing and growing. Not lawyers, accountants and restructuring. If policy creates billions of dollars of compliance costs before it creates a single dollar of productive investment, something has gone badly wrong. news24.com.au/politics/austr…

Another lie? Unfortunately @AlboMP and @JEChalmers keep calling the new trust tax a 30% minimum tax. It isn’t. Read 👇 When you tax the same dollar twice, people stop investing that dollar. That is double taxation, and it weakens the capital formation Australia needs for growth, resilience and aspiration. Thank you @rosieslewis @australian wilsonassetmanagement.com.au…

France burns while @AlboMP et al fiddle. France’s problem is that the country stopped producing and started only distributing. Same trap is occurring here. @AlboMP & @JEChalmers are taxing aspiration, loading debt onto productive investment, and treating private enterprise as the problem rather than the solution. You don’t rebuild a country by expanding the state that is consuming it. Momentum over nostalgia. #StoptheCGTtoGetAhead #JoinWARonCGT

The Prime Minister can laugh, but young Australians will not. This is @AlboMP ‘s intergenerational betrayal. Growth is being punished. Productive capital is being taxed. Young people saving and investing for a deposit are going backwards. That is not fairness. It is economic vandalism. Do you agree? @AlboMP ’s proposed 30% trust tax is econominc destruction and could cost Australians $8bn–$13.3bn in advice and restructuring, based on @WilsonAssetMgmt modelling. Family businesses will feel the pain. A Senate inquiry is needed to properly scrutinise the unintended consequences. My @2GB873 interview👇Thanks @ClintMaynard2GB : omny.fm/shows/money-news/its…

Labor’s new trust tax will raise $4.5bn over the forward estimates but cost small businesses & families up to $13.3bn just to restructure, three times more than it collects. @AlboMP ‘s government is asking builders, pharmacies, cafes and family firms to spend billions before a single dollar of tax is raised. That’s economic vandalism, not reform. #auspol #TrustTax #SmallBusiness wilsonassetmanagement.com.au…

Family businesses face an $8bn–$13.3bn bill just to work out how to survive the 30% trust tax, then act on it. The Budget expects it to raise $4.5bn over five years. That’s up to three times the revenue, paid before a dollar is collected. Does this make sense @AlboMP ? Thanks @sunrise @natalie_barr👇 youtu.be/4zFj0SZoYhU

Great pod Chis 👊 Must-watch. Chris Joye lays out the real damage: $660bn extra debt since 2022, ballooning public sector, collapsing productivity, and a recession we didn’t have to have. His fix is the one politicians won’t touch claw back the overfunded Future Fund, slash spending (including NDIS), pause the migration surge until housing/infrastructure catch up, and stop taxing aspiration to fund an ever-growing bureaucracy. This is the economic vandalism debate Australia needs. Listen 👇 #StoptheCGTtoGetAhead #JoinWARonCGT

Great interview Mark & Chris. “It’s killing our country.” Spot on Chris. Ballooning government debt and spending are forcing higher taxes on productive Australian businesses including the new CGT changes that punish all Australian plus entrepreneurs, investors and capital formation. You can’t grow the private sector by taxing the gains that fund it. Rein in spending first. #StoptheCGTtoGetAhead #JoinWARonCGT
“It’s killing our country” In this episode of Straight Talk, I sit down with economist Chris Joye for round five, a frank conversation about government spending, immigration, productivity and Australia’s economic future. Chris argues that Australia’s challenges run deeper than events in the Middle East. He examines what he describes as $660 billion in additional government debt since 2022, the pressure population growth is placing on housing and infrastructure, and an expanding public service alongside declining private sector productivity. He also questions the Reserve Bank’s “narrow path” strategy, whether political influence has shaped its approach to inflation, and the cost to Australian households. I then ask Chris what needs to change: how to rein in spending, lift productivity and get Australia’s economy back on track. Search Straight Talk wherever you get your podcasts 4 m

I’m new to social media. What do you think? @AlboMP @AnikaWells @AustralianLabor staffers pushing a bill they haven’t read that gives the @ausgov power to censor news and run unlimited fake accounts to attack political opponents. Is this really happening in Australia?
Well, that was wild. I'm at the Australian Parliament and just left a meeting with two staffers for the governing party. They told us that the government needed more power to censor things like the upcoming US execution of Nidal Hasan. When I asked why they needed to censor that video, one said it was to prevent copycat killings. Copycat killings by governments? I asked. Er, no, they said. Copycat killings like of a backpacker, several decades ago. So, under that logic, I pointed out, the government should censor things like last year's Bondi massacre, where two Muslims killed 15 people, no? Well, that was news, they said. Didn't they realize their bill would allow the government to censor news? They didn't seem to know, or care. They also admitted that they did not know that the bill would allow the government to create and operate an unlimited number of fake social media accounts to attack its political enemies and spread disinformation. Having presented them with information they had never heard about a bill they had clearly not read, they emphasized to us, strenuously, that they were moving forward with the bill. So there you have it. The government wants the power to arbitrarily censor scenes of violent crime, or violence, for any reason. And it wants the power to use an unlimited number of fake accounts to wage offensive disinformational warfare against the Australian people. Given that the Bondi massacre last year increased public opposition to mass migration, and support for the populist One Nation Party, it seems obvious that the government wants to censor such events in order to protect its political power. It's quite telling how obediently governing party members insist such a law is needed without even knowing what's in it.
