Sixty years ago, when I was a young man—a ‘Kenyan cowboy,’ some might say—I never could have imagined that my love of adventure and taste for luxury would lead me, and A&K, to where we are today.
I am deeply honoured to be named the 2027 recipient of the Forbes Travel Guide Award of Excellence by Baccarat, in recognition of my lifetime of achievement in luxury travel.
Every corner of the world I’ve been fortunate enough to explore, and every opportunity to innovate, has been made richer by the many wonderful people who have shared this journey with me. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of them.
With heartfelt appreciation, I look forward to accepting this special honour at Forbes Travel Guide’s The Summit next February in Monaco.

My heartfelt thanks to my dear friend Mellody Hobson for her gracious words about my new book, The Greatest Adventurer. Throughout my life, I have always believed in taking risks, embracing the unknown, and never standing still. It means a great deal to have Mellody capture that spirit so beautifully. I am truly grateful for her friendship and support.

I’ve spent much of my life on the polo field, so Nacho Figueras’s words about The Greatest Adventurer feel especially meaningful. As a professional polo player, he knows the dedication, curiosity, and sense of adventure that come with a life in the sport.
Thank you, Nacho, for this wonderful endorsement. The Greatest Adventurer, written with @benmezrich, arrives November 10. Preorder: a.co/d/0gb7bQJ8

Less than one month until my next Inspiring Expedition by Private Jet begins! On my last journey, we visited St. Helena - one of the world’s most remote islands, located in the South Atlantic Ocean. My next adventure also features several off-the-beaten-path islands like the Cook Islands and Madeira. I’m looking forward to sharing photos throughout the trip.
Rwanda’s annual Kwita Izina event takes place this week, with 22 newborn mountain gorillas receiving their names. What a wonderful testament to one of Africa’s great conservation success stories!
What I particularly admire about Rwanda’s approach is that conservation goes hand in hand with supporting the communities that live alongside these extraordinary animals, as well as welcoming travellers who help sustain both. Truly that is tourism at its best.
My thoughts are with all those affected by the devastating floods in Nepal. Each time I’ve visited this remarkable country, I’ve been struck by the warmth and generosity of the people. It’s very difficult to see so many communities facing such tremendous loss.
What makes Amboseli such a compelling safari destination? The tuskers - elephants with large, impressive tusks that are plentiful in the region. Imagine watching these magnificent creatures roam the plains beneath Mt. Kilimanjaro. AK Sanctuary Kitirua Plains Lodge #WorldElephantDay
There are few luxuries today quite like a truly dark sky, since for so many of us, the night sky is often hidden by city lights. In a remote corner of Morocco's Sahara Desert, A&K's Private Desert Camp offers one of those increasingly rare experiences. Watch the sun disappear over the dunes, then settle in beneath a canopy of stars stretching as far as the horizon.

"In a time when travel often feels rushed, overshared, and transactional, Abercrombie & Kent has created something increasingly rare: the ability to move slowly through extraordinary places while experiencing them at their most intimate and unforgettable."
This line perfectly captures the philosophy upon which I built A&K. My thanks to Anna Barnes and Greenwich Lifestyle magazine for this thoughtful perspective on our Small Jet Journey to Spain and Morocco.

I've been enjoying following along as Jeremy Austin discovers what makes Amboseli and the new Kitirua Plains Lodge so special.
Today is #WorldCrocodileDay. This part of the Mara River is one of the most exciting places to catch the frenzy of a river crossing during the Great Migration. Lying in wait are the crocs which haven’t eaten for months and can survive on fish and the fat in their tails for a year or more. We visited in October, so they were still full from the summer's feeding. How many crocs can you spot in the river here?
Travel to Sri Lanka has gotten even easier now that they offer free tourist visas for select countries, including the UK, Australia and the US.
A visit to Sigiriya is a must-do. Climbing past the 1,500-year-old frescoes and the great lion paws carved from the rock take you to the summit, which takes your breath away. Not just from the climb, but because of the 360-degree view of the surrounding jungle and hills.
This week marks a remarkable moment in history. After 144 years of construction, Spain’s Sagrada Familia reaches completion as it commemorates the centenary of Antoni Gaudí's death with a historic inauguration ceremony presided over by Pope Leo XIV.
This is truly a masterpiece, generations in the making.
Not all of Rio's great spectacles happen on land. Between June and August, humpback whales migrate along Brazil's coastline, often breaching just offshore in an extraordinary display. Watching a 40-ton whale launch itself from the ocean never gets old. @AKTravel_
